Café Brazil opened in December 1991, in the Lakewood area. Café Brazil was founded as a quaint, ten-table restaurant, where you could enjoy a great breakfast and specialty roasted coffees from around the world in a smoke-free, eclectic, relaxing & fun environment. We came in a little late and there was only one server working, so we completely understood that things might take some time. We even expressed that we were happy to be patient, but we were not greeted or served in a very welcoming way. It almost felt like he wanted us to leave instead of getting settled. It is not the customers fault when the staff is spread thin, and a little kindness can make a big difference.
Even with that, I still love this place and will definitely be back because the food and atmosphere are worth it.
There are a few locations throughout the DFW area so it makes it convenient to enjoy.
The coffee, in my experience, has always been hot, rich, and delightful. I have tried several of the dishes and anything that includes a Latin influence takes the prize for me. The French Toast is amazing as well!
Old school hippie color scheme with garish colors is a trademark I’ve found both interesting and annoying!
Service is a tossup. We were completely ignored even though we were the only guest and our waitress exited the building without even acknowledging us. I could go on but you catch my drift.
Richardson has a plethora of cake and pie places to ever consider this place.
Vic made our coffees just perfect and the chefs did an incredible job with our Crepes and chicken and waffles! (Even our picky eater was happy!)
Ps they have a great selection of unlimited fresh roasts.
It was like going back in time.
The coffee as always was superb.
The portions were HUGE so total value for money.
Kids ate for free so that was a pleasant surprise.
We arrived early and it looked closed.
We were greeted by a young man who sat us but he really seemed like he didn’t want to be there.
He was brash and not very attentive. The food came out in a decent time seeing as we were the only ones in there.
The bacon was the Best I had in a long time.
Not greasy at all and extra crispy like I requested.
The overall experience was fine it was just the attitude of the server that was lacking.
No “sorry about that” when a mistake was made and no “thanks for coming” when we left, maybe I expected too much, but common courtesy is what I am used to.
It felt like he was rushing us, as he asked if we were going to pay now..we were enjoying a mini reunion of sorts and it felt a bit intrusive, like he wanted us to leave.
There was a couple of people in there so I’m not sure why he was pressuring us to close out so quickly.
Never the less, the food was good and my left overs made a great breakfast. If give the server 2 stars and the food a 5
