Our server, appeared to be distracted definitely came back to have our drink order repeated. Forgot to check on the table, ordered a second drink and it didn’t come until my meal was finished and didn’t apologize for the 25 minute delay of not having the drink on the table. Also shows, 25 minutes of lacking service.
Food, calamari was good, the baked clams tasted a little fishy. We ordered the chicken and shrimp scampi and I’m so happy we ordered 1 dish to share. The dish lacked flavor, felt soupy and the pasta was definitely not al dente. This pasta was short of being in a soup, just completely underwhelming and soft. They gave us 3 pieces of shrimp and more chicken than anything. I make better pasta than this at home. After eating the food, definitely felt a bit nauseated.
I’d pass on this location for a meal. Between the underwhelming food and lackluster serve, it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Unfortunately, the dining experience itself was deeply disappointing. Cafe Baci is a forgettable yet unforgettable experience—forgettable in flavor, unforgettable in how low-quality and tasteless the food was. As someone who is Italian, I had far higher expectations. Calling this “Italian cuisine” is honestly a stretch.
I lowered my usual dining standards to try something local, and that decision was a mistake. Every dish was bland and borderline inedible. My entire party lost their appetite—we left three full entrées untouched. To their credit, the manager removed them from the bill, which we appreciated.
If you enjoy low-quality food, excessively large portions, and overpriced plates, this may be the place for you.
Ambience: Confusing at best. At one point, I genuinely felt like I was in Texas. Nothing about the space reflects Italian culture or cuisine—it’s heavily Americanized. If you own cowboy boots, you might feel more at home than someone looking for an Italian café experience.
Overall: I will not be returning. This was a disappointing experience across the board, and there is significant room for improvement
Portions are huge and the food is delivered in a timely manner by friendly waiters.
Well worth it!
Note: the line for the bathroom can get long because they only have 2 bathrooms.
Google lists their closing time as 11:00 PM. However, the front desk lady told us they were closed, even though there were still guests actively dining. Sooooo my drink would have been done faster than anyone eating….?? One of the female bartenders was willing to serve us, but the man at the bar overruled her and refused very rude…….We left as a result.
Very disappointing…especially since this is our neighborhood spot. Not sure we’ll be returning. I’ve added two photos from a previous visit; I won’t be adding any others, despite having many more.
