Placed a takeout order of penne vodka, side of meatballs and a chicken napoliana. The chicken napoliana was pretty good but the penne vodka was not very good, both that and the meatballs were extremely salty and the penne vodka tasted a bit bitter and didn’t have the creaminess to balance it. Honestly, for the price I would not order here again. The side house salad I added to my pasta also was a small container of lettuce with 5 onions and a 1/4 of a tomato whole.

Meeting some friends in the Hamden area. Café Amici was the destination. Amici was the right choice for our get together. Service was wonderful and as you can tell by the photos, the food was exceptional. If you’re ever in the New Haven or Hamden area it is a must try. I could write all the details on why I enjoyed our visit here, but I’ll leave that to you to come and experience it yourself. Congratulations to the staff and management for creating a wonderful experience for patrons.

This place has been our go to since we’ve lived in Hamden. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The only reason they get 4 stars for service is because they make it right when they mess up, otherwise it’s a 3. We were there in July and the waitress served us our appetizers and forgot our main dish even though she took the order. She came and asked what we wanted for dessert and we never got our meal yet. Tonight the waiter forgot our appetizers. In July we got one of our appetizers for free and tonight we were given a discount.

Our daughters hosted a surprise 50th anniversary party for us at Cafe Amici on October 25. When we arrived and said we had a reservation, the staff gave nothing away and took us back to the private dining room where we were surprised by so many family and friends. The size of the room was perfect and the food was delicious. Our server, Megan, was absolutely great. She was very attentive to us and our guests, checking to see if anyone needed another drink or anything else. At the end of the evening, our leftovers were nicely, packaged for us to take home. We are happy to recommend Cafe Amici for private dining or for a group party!

Decent cocktails. Nice servers. Dinner and apps good. Major complaint, bread is stale.
Had to ask server to replace which she gladly did. Overall a good place for quick dinner.

I’m rating this soley on pickup of pizza and my rating is “meh” and for the price you literally have better tasting and cheaper pizza with easier pickup 100 feet down the road. Limited toppings and the wait to receive my pizza was way too long. Looks nice but do yourself a favor and get your pizza anywhere else and enjoy better tasting pizza for less money.

Cafe Amici is everything I expect from an Italian restaurant. The staff is very friendly and professional. Inside and outside are kept clean. Atmosphere is very family friendly. To put a cherry in top, the food is phenomenal. I will definitely be returning for another meal sometime in the future.
Located on Whitney Ave across the street from Wells Fargo or Walgreens. There is no direct highway to get there. If you’re on Rt15 take exit 61. If you’re on I91 take exit 5, or exit 10>40 connector>exit 1.
Do yourself a favor and make the drive. It’s well worth it.

Memorial brunch. 20 person gathering. Room with a bar. We had table of photos; family movie clips and slides. Plenty of room to reacquaint and chat.
Excellent bar and table service.
Good menu offerings. I had mushrooms risotto perfectly made. Sandwich, entree, salad choices – I can’t remember everything. Wonderful mimosa. Table of dessert pastry and cookies.
Good acoustics for background music and easy conversation.
Very happy with the restaurants guidance and support of our small family and friends event.

Subpar and overpriced. Spent a lot of money, but felt like a nuisance rather than a guest. Tiny diner like fork with expensive, poorly prepared entree seemed odd, although I could have overlooked that. Maybe stick with pizza? Flavors ok, but over salty. Oh, well. I don’t know. Maybe don’t offer an over priced fine dining menu if you can’t pull it off? I might go back if I’m in a masochistic mood.

Great family style Italian restaurant. Ordered the specialty chicken risotto & the veil saltimbocca. Both delicious. The attire was relaxed and the place was busy on a Sunday night.
Service was friendly. Food was delicious. Value was fair.
I felt like 4 stars feels right, as it’s not a destination restaurant. But it is a fantastic local Cafe.
