Located in downtown Tucson, Café 54 is a non-profit restaurant and job training program for low-income adults in mental health recovery who are striving to obtain competitive employment and reclaim their independence. Café 54 trainees learn hands-on restaurant skills and work with a job developer on resumes, interviewing, and job searching, and are prepared for employment when they finish the Café 54 program. Café 54 offers full-service catering, in addition to daily lunch fare that changes with the seasons.

The food is excellent, the menu is outstanding and the prices are best value for your dollar. I had the flat iron steak as cooked and it was wonderful with a hint of garlic salt. My daughter had the bacon cheeseburger and she found it more than delicious! The desserts are always excellent and the concept is very forward thinking!

Cafe 54 catered an event I helped organize and it was fantastic on all accounts! They, eh, “catered,” so our specific modification requests, communicated well, and were right on time. Oh, and the food? It was a HIT with our participants! We can’t wait to hire them again for our next event.

Right when you walk in, it feels different. It is almost like you have been there before even if you never have. There is art all over the walls and it almost feels like you are in a museum until you reach the register all the way at the end of the restaurant. All of the staff was super friendly and PATIENT, which is so sweet when you are new to the area/menu. I got the Greek pasta with chicken. Everything tasted so damn good and was so fresh. It was under $20 and for what you get, seems like it is too good to be true. However, it is. The truth is this place is really special and makes great food. It has an accepting and welcoming vibe. Pretty sure that is why the food tastes so good. I am going back again today. You should eat here too, you will not regret it.

Cafe 54 is a little gem that offers great food in a lovely space filled with student art! I’m very impressed that they partner with NAMI to help disabled clients obtain job training and experience. I would like them to offer brewed coffee rather than Keurig pods, but that is a minor complaint! The Korean beef dish was yummy!

My sister and I learned of Cafe54 on Az Illustrated. The food was good, the staff very pleasant and customer oriented. We will go back to support them. Also Had clothes to donate to CTF. We found this cafe while we were on a walk downtown. It was our first visit and we were amazed to discover its mission. The staff were so welcoming, the food was delicious, the service was excellent, and we loved looking at the artwork! We would definitely go there again.

I work downtown and this is my new favorite lunch spot. Fresh, quality ingredients, skillfully prepared and delicious. The service is always friendly and fast enough that I never have to worry about getting back to the office on time. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service.

I was happy to find this place still open when I was Downtown recently. When I worked at the library (back when the Downtown lunch options were pretty dismal), we would come here for lunch all the time, and it was always really good. The special of the day is the best. Pretty reasonably priced too, and their mission makes them worth supporting over other restaurants.
