Stopped into Cafe26 in Milton looking for a new breakfast spot near my lake house. The staff was great…, very friendly, attentive, and on top of things. The place itself looks nice and inviting, and the menu at first glance seemed solid.

That said, the menu is a little deceiving and the value just isn’t there. When you order eggs, the menu doesn’t say what’s included. At most restaurants, eggs come with toast and hashbrowns, but here everything is an upcharge. Hashbrowns? +$4. Sausage or bacon? Another +$4. What ended up being three eggs, a small portion of hashbrowns, two small sausage patties, and toast rang up to $24 for one person,,, a very expensive breakfast for what you actually get.

I also tried a half order of biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately, it came out cold, and the gravy tasted just like the canned version you can buy at the store.

Overall, while the staff and the atmosphere were both positives, the food quality and pricing just don’t justify coming back. Way too expensive for what you get, so I won’t be giving it a second chance

With tip, ended costing over $30.00 for one person

This is the cutest, friendliest and most quaint cafe. We were coming through Milton and didn’t want a fast food, greasy burger. Nor a bar or pizza joint. So we stopped in Cafe 26, and they had a simple American fare menu. Service was quick. Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was comfortable. Restaurant was clean. Food was hot and delicious! We will definitely be back when we are in Milton.

I had 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. Everything was cold even the sunny side up eggs. The only that was hot was the coffee. I don’t believe sending it back to be nuked. Sorry, But I will not return to this restaurant! Your business wont last long if this is the kind of food you serve!

Cafe 26 has amazing food, but above and beyond that they have employees that go above and beyond! Michelle especially make every visit feel like visiting family. The owner is a great guy too! He does whatever needs to be done; carrying trays, filling coffee and clearing tables is not beneath him. We brought our family from New York and the asked to go back a second time for breakfast before they left. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Got the steak fajita skillet and it was good. The flavor was perfect, not to strong and not to bland the steak on the other hand was dry and chewy. We also got the apple creepe and it was really good, wish that the apple slices in the creepe were a bit smaller. Other than that the experience was good and I would go back.

The last time I was in Milton, WI the location of Cafe 26 was a fast food restaurant. This visit we met up with some family for Sunday Brunch and it really made an impression! There were 12 of us total and the courteous, hometown feel to the service was great. Marble top tables and booths were available for seating in the small but well laid out dining area.
Our crew ordered a broad variety of breakfast, brunch and lunch items. There was a slight lag in the orders coming out but with the large group and the variety of the orders this was not unexpected.
The food was delicious , and also the plating was far above the average diner fare. From their specialty eggs benedict, steak and eggs, gourmet pancakes and french toast, to reuben sandwich and chicken fried steak all were wonderful! Wish we could have tried more on the menu, but way too full for that! It will have to wait for another trip!
