I loved this place during undergrad so when I came back for Homecoming this was a guaranteed stop for me! The pitchers were just as fun as I remember and the skillet fries and wings are still a hit This will always be a State College staple

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at Cafe 210 that raises serious concerns about their professionalism and how they treat customers. During my visit, the bartender… an old bald man w/ glasses gave a guest the wrong drink that he did not order. Instead of taking responsibility and correcting it, the situation was handled carelessly and without accountability. Mistakes happen, but the way it was managed showed a lack of attention and respect for patrons.

It got worse when that same bartender claimed that a customer’s card had declined, even though that exact same card worked perfectly fine just moments earlier with another bartender. This created unnecessary embarrassment and confusion and it is confirmed to be an honest payment mistake on the bartenders end and like he was deliberately trying to cause a problem. There was no disruptive behavior, yet his attitude was hostile and confrontational, which made the environment uncomfortable not only for that individual but for everyone nearby.

When the situation was escalated, the manager a large old bald man did not handle it professionally. He refused to disclose his name or discuss his staffs wrongful actions which is basic transparency in any customer-facing business. Instead of stepping in to calmly resolve the issue or calmly and support customers, he kept running away to the back, unwilling to take responsibility, which only made the situation worse.

Security staff also put their hands on myself and another guest who was calm and not acting aggressively, which was completely unnecessary.
Physical contact like that violates Pennsylvania State Law(in regard to assault, battery, etc.) shows a serious disregard for customer safety and proper legal conduct.

Overall, the experience reflected very poor customer service, lack of accountability, and an unwillingness from staff and management to properly address legitimate concerns. I hope Cafe 210 takes steps to better train their staff, improve professionalism and ensure that customers are treated fairly and respectfully. This is most importantly the case, especially because the staff has been analyzed and confirmed to be 100% in the wrong by industry leaders and legal professionals.

I trust that the staff’s mis-conduct can be further reviewed on security footage and interviews.

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience here tonight. After purchasing a drink for $10, my card initially didn’t go through with one bartender. Instead of handling it professionally, he immediately blamed my bank and said, word for word, “maybe you spent too much money tonight.”

I then went to another bartender, and the same card worked without any issue, proving it was not a bank problem. When I calmly explained this, the first bartender became aggressive and shortly after I was removed from the establishment for no legitimate reason. This was only my second drink, and I was completely respectful the entire time.

Being kicked out after paying for a drink and not even being allowed to finish it is unacceptable customer service. Staff should treat paying customers with professionalism and respect, not hostility and accusations.

I won’t be returning, and I hope management addresses how customers are treated.

Terrific spot in State College to have cheesesteaks! We visited Cafe 210 West for the first time and the vibes are definitely college bound atmosphere. The service was fantastic! We ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer – which were excellent. The cheesesteaks were really good too. It did not have a sauce which I had to order a side of marinara to add onto the cheesesteak for an additional fee. The location has two big rooms and is self seating. Overall a good time with good food!

Awful experience from start to finish! I don’t recommend going to this place!

We asked the bouncer if there was a happy hour since there was a cover fee, and he said, “yes.” I go inside and ask the bartender for a happy hour item, and guess what? He says there’s no happy hour today. That was frustrating and misleading.

Moving on, we ordered drinks, which took forever to arrive. When they finally did, they were mediocre at best. Then we ordered onion rings, and they were basically burnt. They tasted terrible, like they had been sitting in old oil for too long.

The service was incredibly slow, and the staff seemed disinterested in providing a good experience. The overall atmosphere was disappointing as well; it felt more like a poorly managed dive bar than a lively café.

Cafe210 really needs to step up their game to stay relevant in the State College area. Better communication, faster service, and higher quality food are essential. Right now, it’s just not worth the time or money.

College bar with good drink specials and nice dive bar feel. Beer was ice cold and they specialize in ice tea pitchers. Love this place since the 90s, but the food has gone way down hill. Nachos which were the state college go to were very stale. Most of the chips were crushed up bits of chips. The burgers are absolutely a joke. Would have preferred a McDonald’s cheeseburger. Over cooked thin Patties with stale bread. So long story short, good place for a cold drink but eat somewhere before…..

Reliving college days, listening to live music on the back porch, drinking good cheap pitchers, and eating surprisingly good food; what’s not to love?

I came in as a banana on banana crawl night and they charged me $5 cash even though I had the banana costume pass. They ended up kicking me out because I didn’t “tell them” that there was no soap and paper towel in the women’s room. I went to the men’s room sadly I did not know that was unacceptable and they kicked me out. I am a kind soul and feel like this was very extremist. May I add that there are routines for cleanliness, especially at a place that sells food and alcohol, if these resources always run out, then it’s their job to fix it without someone going to “tell them”. They said if it was reverse, men going into the women’s room, that would be unacceptable. It wasn’t reverse, and what happened to gender neutrality???

Terrible, unwelcoming employees who don’t care about bringing in business- even on family weekend! PARENTS AND FAMILIES- Save your money and put it toward a better more inviting establishment.
My family and I came to PSU for family weekend to visit our freshman and see his new home. We TRIED to come here for a drink and some food around 630pm. We were turned away at the door because the bouncers didn’t accept my 70 year old grandmother’s senior citizen ID because it “wasn’t a US issued ID”.……..let me repeat that again. ….THEY TURNED AWAY HER SENIOR CITIZEN ID……..Idiots. They told us it was the managers policy that anyone over 21 has to have a US issued ID (hers was from the Philippines) but they were willing to see her passport, which we left at home for safe keeping. The irony is, they said my 18 year old brother (who could easily pass for 21) was fine and didn’t need to show his ID because he was with our parents. I should’ve told them my grandma was under 21 but with her legal guardians, maybe they would’ve let us in that way.

In all, I don’t feel like we missed much anyway because from the other Google reviews, sounds like the service inside the cafe is just as terrible as at the door.

One of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. Both the cheesesteak and fish and chips were extremely salty—so much so that they were difficult to eat. Poorly prepared and served without care. A complete letdown.
