If I could this place zero stars I would. First off the food is horrible. It tasted like it was freezer burned and chicken was super hard. My kids gagged and they’re not picky eaters, but that’s not the real problem. I order the food with the wrong cc on accident. I had no clue it had gotten declined because THEY BROUGHT ME THE FOOD. 10pm they were banging on my door demanding their money. Mind you I ordered at like 4 in the afternoon. The manager blew up my phone and threatened to call police. Super unprofessional and super disgusting food. The situation was taken so far out of hand and I felt like a criminal for the first time in my life.

I’ve been eating here for the last two years and the food is delicious! I highly recommend their salt and pepper wings or lettuce wraps. I’ve never been disappointed with anything ordered and the service is very friendly. People that are complaining about the Vietnamese food at 1979 should go to a Vietnamese restaurant, because the Chinese food is great and affordable.

Not sure how this restaurant has survived. You can’t wrap some shredded lettuce with vermicelli and 2 haves of boiled shrimp and call it spring/summer rolls. It has no taste at all, even the dip is wrong. Dumpling is horrible. Calamari is NOT real squid. It was battered deep fried flour rings, no squid. That is cheating. One star for the old nice lady serving the table.

I don’t understand why people don’t like this restaurant. My wife and I moved here from downtown. We ate Asian /Vietnamese food on a regular basis (because we love it !)at very well known respected restaurants in the midtown area of Houston. And I can tell you this, this place is up there with all of those! I’ve ordered from café 1979 at least 30 times since I’ve moved here and there restaurant is very clean, the staff are very polite and respectful. They always deliver in a timely manner and the food is soooo delicious!!! If you enjoy eating gressy,nasty, processed buffet food this is not the pace for you. That place is just down the road. Keep up the good work café 1979!

Why you keep putting flyers on my door for your restaurant? I tried your food. Its bland and sucks. My house states no trespassing, and my door says do not solicit. That means that I do not want you on my property ever again, and I do not want you putting your flyers on my car, my door, under my door, or slid in my mailbox. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from your restaurant from now on because you cannot respect my private land. And us folks in America hate spammers.

Been in a few times. Shrimp lo mein and hot and sour soup is my favorite dish and they did not disappoint! friendly staff and quality food. If you are looking for a reasonably priced quiet atmosphere look no further.

Horrible Asian restaurant!!! I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for my delivery when they told me it would be 45 minutes. I couldn’t wait any longer so I called to cancel and she started to yell at me and told me to never call her business again just because I couldn’t wait 2 hours for my delivery. I highly recommend Wong’s Chef please take my word for it. Its not even 1 mile down the road on the same side as this horrible restaurant I’m writing a review about.
