If management can take constructive feedback, my suggestion is to not put cold items (pictured) on a hot platter! Soggy lettuce isn’t very pleasant

The food, as always, was excellent, and we really enjoyed the environment of this newer location. We really had a nice time, and we were able to eat fast enough to catch our movie, without feeling rushed.
Our waitress’ name was Abi. I recognized her from another place, but couldn’t quite remember, until she told me she had worked at Big Biscuit a while back. I remembered that she had treated me really well back then, and she treated us really well all over again. We weren’t sure what to get, so Abi had some great suggestions. She had such a charming and fun-spirited personality but she was fast and efficient, too. She knew we were catching a movie, so she made sure to get us fed, and taken care of. I’ll definitely be asking for her to serve me in the future!
We love good Mexican food, and Cactus Grill hits the spot. I was so glad to find out that this restaurant was here. It’s really close to where I work, so I plan on making this a more regular place for me when we eat out.

But last night was the final straw. Our absolute favorite dish (grilled mahi tacos) has been replaced by fried sea bass. We tried them hoping for the best, but they are nothing at all like the mahi ones. The server shared that it was likely they weren’t popular, but everyone we know that ate there RAVED about them. It’s more likely that mahi became more expensive and they were replaced by a cheaper alternative. I get that businesses have to control costs, but we would have gladly paid more to get them.
We also ordered the steak and goat cheese enchiladas. They were ok, but we apparently didn’t read the menu description closely enough to understand that you got two completely different versions. One flour tortilla, one corn with different sauces. Not a fan of either.
On all six visits we have been disappointed in the overall service. We try to go when it’s not crazy busy and that was the case this time. We waited almost 10 minutes for a server to approach our table. I’m not quite sure why, but it seems to take a LONG time to get a bar drink. We ordered the Daisy Cactus and it was not served until after our meal arrived even though we ordered it right away.
This particular location is really loud. It’s difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting especially if you aren’t seated in a booth. Overall it’s clean and clearly on the upscale side as Tex-mex places go.
I’m not sure if we will go back which is sad because we LOVED the food. We may give it another try to find another favorite.
Our waitress was condescending, inattentive and careless. She was snippy and rude in her comments throughout the visit. That is of course, when she wasn’t standing in the corner by the bar, sipping her coffee.
Spent a good amount of time looking for anyone to come to our table for drink refills, our cocktails took longer to come out than the table next to us who ordered after us and also ordered the same drinks.
Flagged down a manager and other waitresses just to receive any attention.
For the price to portion ratio, you would expect at least a higher level of customer service and attention to detail. It’s a shame because the food wasn’t horrible, but it could’ve definitely been better and the experience as a whole could’ve been saved if we had attention and could’ve checked in about our food.
We will make sure to spread the word to others and encourage them to try other restaurants in the area.
The first time I had a pick-up order, I walked in and there was 4 people standing at the front desk who all just glared at me and didn’t say a word. I told them I had a pick-up order and they said “it’s at the bar” in a tone as if I should already know that. It’s also awkward having to go to the bar, especially if it’s busy because there is no where to wait that isn’t in the way.
I called today to place a pick-up order because I wanted to swap out sides for my order and it wouldn’t let me on the website. I was immediately asked to be put on hold and was on hold for over 10 minutes before they just hung up on me. This was at 3:30pm so not during a busy time. The employees again did not even greet me when I walked in, but just looked at me. The girls at the bar were fine. I came during the pick-up window and my food was cold, not even luke warm. They also forgot my chips.
