The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and excellent service that stayed attentive throughout our visit. We stopped in for a light appetizer lunch and ordered the queso, guacamole, and salsa—it was an amazing trio, fresh and full of flavor. If this was just the appetizer experience, I can only imagine how good the rest of the menu is. Definitely worth a stop to enjoy more of their amazing dishes!

We had a call-ahead reservation for a group of 16 and arrived on time, yet it took 20 minutes to set up tables, another 20 minutes to get drinks, and 10 more minutes before our orders were taken. We were there over two and a half hours total.

The food was very disappointing—multiple orders were wrong and the quality was poor. My 6-year-old wouldn’t eat his mac and cheese because it tasted off, and my wife, who is not picky, couldn’t finish her meal. No one at our end of the table finished their food, and the prices are extremely high for the quality.

Our server was very nice, but the restaurant seems understaffed or poorly managed. This used to be one of my favorite places, but this was our last visit.

Over 20$ for 7 shrimp and a side of steak? You asked for the one star review and here it is.

Our server, Evelyn, so sweet and tried her best despite the poor management running this place. The food took over an hour to come out and was sub par and barely warm. The tacos, we could have got better at Taco Bell. The $30 shrimp and steak quesadilla had barely any shrimp on it. We expressed our concerns to the server, who took it seriously and wanted us to speak with the manager about our concerns. The manager, Mark, refused to speak with us and dismissed Evelyn and sent her back to our table with our checks. You could tell she was so embarrassed as to how he acted in front of the entire restaurant. He then proceeded to stand against the wall and stare at us until we got up to leave. One of the people in our party requested to speak with the owner on our way out, and the owner stated the manager Mark told her “he did not have the time to speak with us” which was clearly a blatant lie as he was standing against the wall doing nothing. We are so disappointed as this place is less than a mile from our house and we wanted to make this our new go to place. We will never be back here again. We hope Mark can learn the importance of guest experience and Evelyn finds a place to work that respects her as well as her customers.

I have been here a few times to eat, and been back many times as a Door Dash Driver. The food is alright for upscale Mexican food. It does cost a bit more than a local food truck with better quality, but it is a nice place to sit down and enjoy food.
My problem is with the people that work here. Each time I go in the staff is about as cold as you can get. Sometimes snooty, and sometimes like they could care less that you are there or have requests.
On my last and final visit, I was there to pick up food for a door dash. It was a Monday, and was busy, so I knew it wouldn’t be a quick pick up. But there was no one at the bar(pick up location) I had to get the attention of the other employees(who could care less about the person there). They informed me that the two small burritos for the order was not ready yet, and I would have to wait. I expected that, but not what would come next. About 15 minutes later the bartender lady showed up and asked whose order I was waiting for. I told her, and then I preceded to watch her not attempt to check on the order or do anything that seemed relevant to her shift. After a total of 25 minutes wait now, I asked her from the other side of the bar area for an update, and she said “do not talk to me in that tone.” I was surprised, because I just asked for an update. She then said her job is not the food or preparation of the order. I just wanted to know because my small order was now extremely late. I asked about the food one more time so I could let the customer know, and then she asked me to leave, and she would never let me know because of my tone. I just felt extremely insulted, and the customer that I was delivering food to, would not get the order until way later. I had to drop the order as a result and wasted my time there.
All this is to say. I refuse orders from them now, and tell everyone I know not to go there. There are many other places in town with better food, and a friendly vibe from the staff. It was just a sad experience for me.

As a family we were so excited to try this spot as it’s less than a mile from our house and we hoped to make it our new regular spot. On a positive note our server Evelyn was incredible. She was so kind and attentive. Unfortunately everything else was terrible. First our drinks take over 20 mins then our food takes an hour to get to the table and it was subpar at best. We understand things happen so we kindly addressed the concerns with the server Evelyn and she took these concerns seriously as she removed the checks from our table and stated she would go speak to the manager Mark. We watched her walk over to the manager Mark who’s leaning against a wall maybe 10 feet from us and watched him rudely dismiss her and refuse to speak with us and address the concerns. We explained that we watched this all unfold and you could tell how embarrassed and uncomfortable the situation and the manager had made Evelyn feel. We quickly reassured her it’s not her fault and we greatly appreciated her kindness and professionalism. At this point the manager Mark is still standing on the same wall doing absolutely nothing and he proceeded to do this for the next 10 minutes after we asked to speak with him. Before leaving we asked to speak to the owner who advised us the manager Mark had told her he did not have the chance to speak with us which clearly a bold faced lie. It’s so sad that an awful manager like Mark can cause what could have been a very forgettable ano forgivable dinner that was not up to standard into an experience we will never forget at a location we will never return to. I just hope the owner understands how terribly Mark just represented this establishment and how little respect he had for our server Evelyn and us as customer.

I dont usually give 5 stars all the way down. But we stopped off of I10 to hit this spot traveling on a road trip due to its reviews and it did not dossapoint!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service and one of the best chips and salsa’s ive had! (All homemade here)

If you plan an event and want to do extra, make sure you ask to speak to a manager as well, and not just event booker. When our party was booked we asked if they had karaoke, they said no. So we asked if we could bring a portable one, was told it was no problem. That was a big reason we chose here. After one song, the manager told us we could not do that, as they had pd entertainment there. Advised him that we were told by event staff who booked us we could…this guy said he’s a manager and we can not! So there’s a breakdown in staff knowing what’s allowed and communication. We pd our $900 bill and went elsewhere. The atmosphere was nice. The bartender made great drinks and they were affordable. The street shrimp tacos were excellent. The quesadilla was too cheesy that the 3 people that ordered it said …it needed more meat. The wait staff was great.

Out go-to spot for real Mexican food for years. Not that fake tex-mex trash. This is the real deal. Everything is always fresh and incredible.

Must have appetizer is by far the queso bites. You also cant go wrong with the pork California Street Taco!

Cactus Flower has been our go-to for Mexican for years. The food is consistently great, but the service has gone down hill the past few years, specifically the wait time for food once ordered.

The past two times we went our food took over an hour to be brought out. Last week I had a reservation for 5:00, but when I checked in with the host he acted like they had no record of my name on the list. To their credit they had a table ready for us in a few minutes, but it was all down hill after that…

The dining room wasn’t particularly full, but there was a steady stream of people coming in to pick up to-go/Door Dash orders, so that may have been part of the issue. By the time our food came out after about an hour, everyone was so full of the complimentary chips and salsa that no one really wanted their dinners anymore.

$2 watermelon mango on the rocks was fantastic. And the shrimp and steak quesadilla was amazing.
I highly recommend.
It was a place I could run into familiar faces. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I’ve hace cactus flower.
