We stopped in thinking we might find some good poutine, based on one of the Google reviews. But that reviewer clearly doesn’t know what poutine is. Cactus Flats has french fries with brown gravy, but that isn’t poutine without the cheese curds. Nevertheless we enjoyed an excellent meal and a pitcher of ice cold beer served with ice frosted mugs. All for a very reasonable price and with excellent friendly service from both the bar and kitchen. Three of our four had burgers and we all commented on how good they were. Very homemade with care. Our other diner wasn’t as hungry, but enjoyed the potato skins. We enjoyed several rounds of Keno and a couple of games of pool as well. It was a wonderful, relaxing stop. Apparently Cactus Flats is popular for bluegrass music events also. Great place, great people, great food, great drinks, great prices, great fun. My kind of place and we will definitely return.

We stopped here for a very late lunch, after leaving Saturday’s big geocaching event at Utica Park. Soooo glad we did!!! The “made this morning” cream of crab soup was beyond delicious! The staff is friendly and our food arrived quickly. Definitely would go back for another yummy meal!

This place is a biker bar at its core but don’t let that stop you from going- the staff and the patrons are friendly, fun loving people. We stopped in for one drink and ended up staying for three hours. It’s that kind of place.
Definitely a no-frills tap list, with no craft beers to be had. Would have been nice to have some local offerings.
Fellow customers were raving about the food, but all we had were the chicken tenders app, which were done perfectly.
Can’t wait to pop in and say hi to our new friends again soon!
I also have to go back to ask about the mutant baby figurines on the shelf behind the bar- man are they creepy! They just add to the quirky character of the place.

Best Burgers in Frederick, and probably the Nicest staff and customers you’ll ever encounter. This gem serves farm fresh beef and tastes nothing like Maxwell burgers or 5 guys; it’s really the tastiest burger in the state but don’t believe me, come try for yourself !

Worth stopping in. I can’t imagine the number of times I’ve driven by Cactus Flats without stopping. I was in the area and, after reading reviews, decided to give it a shot for a late lunch.
It’s a nice, clean environment. Dated and a creaky floor, yes. Friendly service, yes.
The food was okay, but it was a better value. We had the appetizer sampler (unremarkable), burger (pretty good!), and hamburger steak (whoa gravy!).
Didn’t break the bank. I’ll be back to give it another try.
