Cabot’s is a family owned and operated old-fashioned nostalgic ice cream parlor with dozens of homemade ice cream and frozen yogurt flavors. We are especially known for our generous portions of unique premium ice cream and frozen yogurt creations. We are also a full service family friendly restaurant serving breakfast all day, brunch, lunch, dinner and late night treats. We create custom made ice cream cakes, ice cream cupcakes and frozen yogurt pies and party sundae creations to accommodate over 200 servings. We have been a Newton tradition since 1969 and we pride ourselves on bringing quality, value and consistency to all our customers.

What an incredible ice cream experience! There are so many sundaes to choose from, and everything was absolutely delicious. They’re super generous with the portions — plenty of syrup, ice cream, chocolate, and even cider! Watching them make the ice cream right in front of you while enjoying it was such a fun and unique experience. Definitely a must-visit!

Places like this have been lost to time, luckily Cabot’s is going strong giving you the ice cream you actually paid for. Go for ice cream (oh and they have food too) and stay for the diner atmosphere. There’s wraparound bar seating or tables, and it’s always packed but never takes long to get some scream. They even have a non-dairy base if needed, it’s ice cream for all at this local gem

Not bad, surprisingly good.
I came in here with low expectations, because a restaurant that’s mainly known for their Ice creams generally do not have good food.
But I was pleasantly surprised. The food I had, specifically the Shepards Pie, was pretty good.
While its not traditional, the flavor was great. For the amount you’re paying, you get a decent portion.
As for the Sundae, it was pretty spot on. Presentation was great, flavor was pretty good.
Overall a very good 7/10, would recommend!

Delicious is an understatement. The smell of hot waffles and ice cream fills up the restaurant, and most booths have direct views to where they’re making the sundaes that add so much to the fun. The ice cream is delicious, highlight the warm chocolate sauce that is so gooey and delicious. You wouldn’t expect the food to be as good as it is, and at very reasonable prices. Such a fun place, highly recommend. Expect it to be busy!

Food was delicious! You can tell they use multiple fryers, because the fried chicken and mozzarella sticks were not onion-y even though we also got fried onions. Thats a 10/10 for me. Service was great, the staff was all friendly and they were having fun together. The sundae was delicious and messy!

This is my first time visiting Cabots, but it won’t be my last. I got the two foot long hotdogs with beans and brown bread, delicious. My wife got a chicken teriyaki roll up with fries and coleslaw, very good. We shared a dish of chocolate ice cream…wow was it good. Highly recommend, great place!

Cabot’s is a perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or just a quick grab of some ice cream. There are multiple options for sitting, such as countertop, booth, or table. Most of the tables are small and best for parties of 3-5 people, but they can push tables together if they are available for bigger parties.
For breakfast, I typically get the waffles or the steak & eggs. The steak is cooked to perfection, and the eggs are cooked to your liking. I have never had an issue with my food at this place, and the sides are also very good. The ice cream is very good and unique, and the toppings compliment the ice cream well.
The service is excellent here. They make sure your drinks are taken care of, and the food comes out in a timely manner.

So we came here twice in one day and brought different people because the food and the ice cream were amazing! Service could use some work. We had to ask for more water etc but the food and the ice cream can’t be beat! Amazing!

Great food! Fish and Chips were good tasted a bit watery. The Apple Crisp ice cream is worth going in the Fall. Club sandwich didn’t include Mayo – server should have asked.
Was pretty busy for a Saturday night but we still managed to get parking in the small parking lot.
