Stopped in for lunch during a slower hour and was in and out right on time, which I appreciated. Food was solid. I had the shrimp taco dinner ($21) that comes with rice and beans—the beans were actual whole beans, not the usual refried style, which was a nice change.
Chips and queso aren’t listed on the menu, but they do have them if you ask ($6.50).
Only real downside was the seating. The booths are very close together—you’re basically sharing conversations with the table next to you, and getting in and out feels tight. Makes me curious how cramped it gets during a busy rush.
Overall, good food, quick service, and a nice lunch option — just be ready for cozy seating.

Great spot for lunch! I came in around 2:30 – the service was attentive and hands on, and food came out extremely quick. I love that they serve fresh juice (the Verde Vida was amazing) and have a large tequila selection. The Blackberry margarita also did not disappoint, and the food is authentic and delicious. Will have to come back for dinner!

We went to this hidden gem the other day we’re very surprised at how good the food was,as well as the service! It’s a bit tight as far as seating. However, the food and the service certainly made it worth going. We had the shrimp and steak tacos as well as the guacamole with chips. Everything was fantastic! As for dessert, we had the churro fries with chocolate dip, which were outstanding. Lastly, our waitress Priscilla couldn’t have been better. She was awesome very attentive, professional, and extremely helpful! Five stars.

We gave a 20% because it was earned. Can’t say enough about our server Maria. I ordered the steak fajita you can see the attached picture. It was very, very good. We needed a good Mexican restaurant in Northbrook. We will definitely return.

Jimena and Gina at Cabo Mexican Cocina are truly outstanding! Every Friday when we visit for lunch, they greet us with warm smiles and make us feel completely welcomed. Their dedication to excellent service is unmatched they always go above and beyond to ensure we’re taken care of. Thanks to them, our weekly lunch feels special every time. This is what my second time here and the food was just delicious. Friendly greeter at the door and a comfortable Booth seat. Extensive drink menu. Burritos tacos and other great dishes all on the menu. I opted for just three tacos versus a meal which comes with two sides. Grilled shrimp was delicious and sweet and Smokey like it had been on a grill . Really great texture and good toppings . Also got a fish taco which was battered and fried and had a Tangy sauce on top. Really enjoyed it. They also were able to accommodate me getting some stuff to go as my meal was finishing. Went there as part of a school fundraiser and we will be back. Very glad to have them participating in the community like this. Environment is upbeat and super clean and fun. A couple screens had the Olympics going . Service was prompt and friendly, my glass of water was refilled numerous times.

Recently heard about this place and decided to come here with my mom. The interior is clean and simple. The workers are all pretty young. Menu is short and sweet. They also have a bar area if you’re just coming for drinks.
We ordered a little bit of everything to share. The torta was huge! Yum! Tacos were a bit of a mix. The tuna one didn’t have as much flavor as I was hoping for, but the chicken taco had a nice spicy kick that made up for it.
Chips and guac were classic and hit the spot. The horchata was delicious and came in a cute mason jar. Quesadilla was super cheesy and filling. Overall, would come back to try more and maybe grab drinks at the bar next time.

The margaritas are top notch. The fajitas are delicious. They now charge for chips and salsa. It’s also kind of loud.

I took my mom here for lunch and the service is good, they accommodated my mom’s walker I was happy at first but disappointed with the food, as the portion sizes were really small and not quality. $8.50 for a small cup of salsa and some tortilla chips? Are they serious. Most places Mexican restaurants that I go to offer free chips and dip as an appetizer. I had two sets of tacos, a couple drinks as well as elote the total was $80 and didn’t feel satisfied after. Won’t be back.
