“Life is better at the Cabin.” That’s just code for a cute little coffee shop in downtown Defiance, one of the most visited spots on the block. The Cabin has been long established; adorned in this hunting, woodsy lodge deco since its opening in 2003. It is really unlike any other downtown space – the exposed brick walls, stuffed woodland creatures, tin roofing, and rich mahogany wood accents create an inviting and fun atmosphere. Special note: We stop serving food at 3:30pm daily

Love the food and always satisfied with my coffee here.
This is the place that is the heart of downtown Defiance.
It has served so many people.
Thank you for having an amazing coffee shop downtown and on the Southside!
Thank you for having a place that is cozy and welcoming.
I actually began driving from Detroit at 11 a.m. to pick up my son in Indiana. I simply wanted to take him to lunch and enjoy a cup of coffee together. When we arrived at 3:42 p.m., we were told by the owner’s son that they had stopped serving food. I explained that I hadn’t eaten all day and needed something. He said he could offer us a cold sandwich, which was absolutely fine, but then someone behind him said no. This was while they were still handing out to-go orders to other customers.
After ordering my coffee, I asked if they could recommend a nearby restaurant. He said no. I then asked the girl behind the counter if she knew of a place where we could eat, and she also said no. That’s when I used my “choice” words.
As someone from out of state who chose your establishment to visit, I felt like I was treated like garbage. Do better. Train your staff on how to treat people with basic human decency, or at least better customer service.
Fortunately, I found a diner just around the corner. The woman there was kind enough to give me some crackers while we waited for our food, as I was beginning to feel physically ill.
As for the time you stop serving food, it is not clearly marked on google or on your website and I do not see where it says that… If it is on there somewhere you need to make it more obvious as apparently I am the one at fault for not reading every inch of your website.
Got their blueberry and white chocolate scones they are absolute best!!
When it comes to coffee, it’s above average. I got quad shot iced Americano , it’s little too dark and acidic for me. I guess that’s why people love to add other flavors and things.
I would say get here early if you are planning on coming here because it was busy!
There is a small upstairs section, too.
The parking was surely limited, not too sure if they had back parking by the rear deck. Prices were a bit high but the coffees are really good.
