We went to Cab Frye last night for the first time and had a great experience. Debbie, our waitress, was very welcoming and was attentive from when we sat down until the end. We had cocktails, shrimp cocktail, and soups, all of which were very good. My friends had the crab cakes and I had salmon. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back again!

I have to start off by saying I never leave reviews, but the food was so bad that I needed to. We went on a Friday evening and were the only table from 6pm to close. $15 for 4 small bacon wrapped shrimp that had no flavor. Ordered a rare rib eye, it came out well done, but did have some flavor. The server noticed and was nice enough to request another one that was rare. The second came out rare but with no flavor, not even salted. It was like someone took a frozen steak and put it in a microwave. Horrible for $40. Pasta dishes were bland and small. I see why no one was there on a Friday evening. At least the server was great!

Went for dinner. We had the French onion soup, pork tenderloin, and ribeye steak. The pork was well seasoned, but was a little dry (sauce helped). Steak was cooked properly- but normally ribeye comes bone-in.

We think many people don’t realize the restaurant is open. It would probably help to clean up old social media pages and consolidate to one, and post more updates there.

The outside area looked very promising for when the weather gets warmer.

The staff were nice and asked for feedback. It was a little dark in there but once you are done looking at the menu it was fine- might be good to get some little table lights.

Lastly, they advertised craft beer but really only had one ‘local’ beer available. Would recommend expanding the offerings – there are a ton of local breweries that could help give diversity to the beer offering.

Since we are local – we would go back again- maybe once the outside is open.

Service was outstanding. Atmosphere was very nice. Food….well not so much. I ordered the shrimp cocktail to share but there were only 4 shrimp so we got 2 each. I ordered the halibut at $32 a plate. Halibut is such a sweet and easy fish to cook when done with love. Mine was dry to the point I couldn’t eat it. I wasn’t offered another dish like the salmon at the same price. I just couldn’t eat the halibut for how dry it was. I got broccoli on the side. Very fresh but again no seasoning. So disappointing. The mashed potatoes were good so I ate that. Very disappointed for my first visit. Staff was phenomenal and not their place to provide something in place of what couldn’t be eaten. That being said…not sure I’d go back again and I’d definitely not recommend it since the Carriage House is right down the road with phenomenal food and they actually care about their diners to offer something in place if you can’t eat the food. Again.. the halibut was so dry I couldn’t eat it. I make a better halibut at home. So disappointed that I spent near $100 for food I couldn’t eat. At least inbrought home extra food my gf couldn’t eat for my dogs.

Truly awful food. Tasteless soup. Bad wine. Sandwiches of such low quality meat and fish. Service was slow. Nice building.
