We were told about this place and decided to visit for some catfish. I ordered a three piece fish and shrimp with coleslaw and fries. My fiancé ordered the two piece with the same sides. Also had some fried green tomatoes. Everything was seasoned to perfection and hot. No grease standing, just the usual at the bottom of laying down the fish. The fries were very crispy, fresh and also hot. The fried green tomatoes were yummy, top notch.

We were headed to another nearby restaurant that was packed on a Sunday, saw this place and decided to give it a go. WOW! The Sunday specials were bar-b-q chicken leg 1/4s and fried pork chops with 2 veggies and corn bread. We each chose one entree and veg and both had the baked beans, the veggies were Cole slaw, Mac and cheese, Sweet potatoes, Turnip Greens, Zucchini and squash, Cabbage and baked beans. Prepare to get your hands dirty if you order the chicken because you’re gonna want to pick it clean! The sweet potatoes and pork chop were perfectly cooked. The service was awesome and it was a welcoming atmosphere, I would be bring my grandchildren here. It is a sports bar and grill so there were multiple games on several big screens but was not overly loud as some can be. It was a Sunday afternoon about 12:30 and we were seated and waited on immediately! I can’t believe this place wasn’t packed! We both ate every bite! We will be back! Also I’m told they have dominos and spades( game night) on Thursdays, karaoke on Friday snd live band on Saturday. As my previous review reflects, I genuinely enjoyed the catfish plate. This review, however, is specifically for Soul Food Sunday, and in my opinion, the name does not match the experience. I wasn’t just disappointed—I was highly disappointed.
Service was a major issue. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the waitress had several forgettable moments. When I asked for two pieces of white bread for my pork chop sandwich, I had to track her down to get it—and when it finally arrived, the bread was cold, as if it had come straight from the refrigerator.
I attempted to make a sandwich because the plastic fork and knife provided were no match for an overly thick, overcooked pork chop. As for the sides: the pinto beans were excellent—steaming hot, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the dressing completely missed the mark.
Even getting my tea took longer than it should have.

My wife and I went there for lunch today and chatted with Cliff. The food was amazing. The staff was friendly and attentive. We loved it and cannot wait to go back! Don’t sleep on the strawberry cookie. It was my wife’s favorite.

Just had the oxtails at C&J’s bar and grill. They were deliciously well seasoned and Tender. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. This is a great restaurant to visit whenever they’re open. On Wednesday they have $1 wings and they are very good. The people here are very friendly and courteous.

I wanted something new to try so my husband and I Popped in C &J’s Sports Bar and Grill. Let me say, I was NOT disappointed! They had the Superbowl playing on all TVs. No waiting. Very clean. Service was awesome. The food was Great! Finally Wings I can eat!!! They were GREAT!! Very Happy atmosphere.

They have done a lot to the space they are in and I would say it’s paid off! The environment is open and welcoming, the building stays cool(the previous businesses here have had issues with the a/c) and the staff are friendly.
The food was good and very competitively priced! They had a simple menu but it included options for everyone!
The drink menu is fun, although I didn’t see pricing on the menu itself. I would also like to see them have a price list for their nice selection of premium and super premium spirits. I was pleasantly surprised to see some XO cognac and high end tequila on the shelf! They also had some nice scotch and bourbon options, and while the options are fewer than some other places they appear to be more carefully selected.
Overall I think this will be a great addition to be options we have here in south Tipton, and while I will miss the businesses that previously occupied the space I am happy to have somewhere to go and will be back!

C&j’s is one of those good hometown establishments that gives you that “at home” feeling that makes everyone feel like a vip. You’re going to get great interaction from the staff, great food and all the great vibes that leaving you wanting to come back. Another the plus is, the owner is present, proactive and attentive to customers…getting real time feedback to make in the moment changes to assure you leave totally satisfied.

The food is good but the service as of lately has been slow especially during lunch hours. The servers have attitudes at times. A youtuber (with a huge following) was in there recently and they did not like the service. This bar would be great if the service was better. I’ve heard complaints from several people in the past few weeks. The food is too good to have this minor hiccup.
