Only negative was the Creme Brulee, which despite a nice presentation, thick hard sugar coating and wonderful rich vanilla taste, had cold “areas” in the creme itself. not uncommon problem with Creme brulee, but still a small disapointment when comparing to rest of the experience. Have to remove a full star from the rating for this, since half stars are not possible.
Both dining area and Kitchen appearad nice and clean. sophisticated interior. Good atmosphere. And despite my inital fears of poor acoustics due to hard surfaces and tall ceiling, it was never difficult to keep up with the conversation (despite moderate hearing loss).
Can recommend. Will come again.
The meat was wonderfully tender and perfectly seasoned. Undoubtedly the best meat I’ve had in a long time. An absolute must-try for any meat lover!
The location near the Rijnhaven is beautiful. The building has been nicely renovated and the cozy, warm atmosphere completes the dining experience.
It might be somewhat pricey, but the quality you receive is absolutely worth the money. I know that I will definitely be back!
These people really know their meat and how to prepare it.
For a starter, we also had a steak tartare, which was served on a potato hash brown. Note that the meat is pureed (grated?), while I prefer to still have bigger pieces of meat in my tartare. Therefore, it wasn’t entirely up to my expectations.
The place has an extensive wine card, which is understandable, but I believe it’d benefit from having at least 1-2 more cocktail options – they only had an Aperol Spritz, which was a shame.
The desserts were fine, but nothing striking as incredibly delicious.
As a starter we had the Ceo meat platter and one with meat and fish.
I found the egg salade and beef tartar a bit too salty, as was the black peper sauce.
We had the côte de boeuf as our main with the perigordjus with truffel and foie gras on the side, it was exceptional. The meat melted within the first few bites, the flavor combination of the Foie gras with a fatty piece of Côte de boeuf and some perigordjus finished with a sip of red Italian wine was absolutely organismic.
for dessert I had cream brulee and a cappuccino. These both I enjoyed very much.
The service was a little slow in the beginning but once the chef noticed we had been waiting everthing went smoothly.
Overall We enjoyed this experience very much and will definitely be back!
Food arrived quickly.
The main course meat is the best we’ve ever had. House steak was amazing, the cote de boeuf even more amazing.
Very nice glass of wine as well.
The starters and desserts were good, but not as impressive as the mains. Focus on those.
Definitely recommend to go and have some melts-in-your-mouth beef.
We started with the steak tartare, carpaccio, and some bread. After the first bite we knew we chose well. Everything was fresh and well prepared.
As a main we went for the tomahawk steak. And I was impressed. The meat was juicy with a beautifully caramelized layer. And it was a lot. Every piece was simply a pleasure to eat.
We finished with the large creme brulee. And that really is for sharing.
All and all, a great place to visit if you’re in the area. Definitely going back.
