I can’t believe I’ve not left a review of this place as we’ve RAVED about it to so many people, so here goes. Come here! Eat here! Pick anything, you’ll be back and you’ll also tell people to do the same. This is also this California girl’s 1st time trying hush puppies…if you don’t already know this, put some butter on those babies and sit back and enjoy your life

I was a disappointed by the food as the reviews were very positive. My bbq chicken was chalky feeling in the mouth (indication of being over cooked), my brisket although flavorful was wayyyyy too salty! Every bite I had to chuck water behind. And the ribs were nothing special but tender. I’m hoping it was just a bad day and bad luck….. but it was a bad first impression for me. On the other hand the location is warm and inviting, and customer service was friendly. Big fan of the hushpuppies!

It’s been a long time since I’ve been back to Byrd’s and wow things have changed to make good BBQ even better. New owners expanded the parking lot and spruced things up a bit while keeping that small BBQ joint appeal. Food was everything it should be. Okra was bright green, not overly breaded, and perfectly cooked. Everything else was spot on delicious. Service was extra friendly, fast, and helpful. I won’t be waiting such a long time before I visit again!

The unsauced ribs were outstanding. Just enough chew to stay on the bone while eating… proper cook.
The brisket had potential but wasn’t . The cut was good and the smoke ring was thick with a nicely seasoned soft bark, but it was a little on the dry side with exception of the fatty part. If it was flat cut instead of full cut I probably would have complained. The fat saved it. So I can’t say 5 stars.
I didn’t do sides or hush puppies, just meat but my friend enjoyed his.

This place deserves more than 5 stars honestly. Walk in a the customer service and interaction was beyond amazing. They explained the menu and not rushed and were super nice.
Then the food came and if it’s your first time get the 3 meat plate. Just to try everything. Food was perfect. While eating they check on you and chat.
And then just the atmosphere. Everyone that came in knew each other and the staff welcomed them and just had everyday conversations. You gotta love that. Not just a sale. Absolutely love that and this place. My new go to place to eat.

Great food. Everything I tried was excellent. Brisket was perfect, pulled pork was great (especially with the house vinegar sauce and coleslaw), the ribs were tender fall off the bone good. Green beans were also really good. I’ll come back here for more!
