A traditional Steak & Chophouse Restaurant has long been absent in Norfolk. When Byrd & Baldwin Bros. Steakhouse opened in 2006 we set out to fill this void. Housed in the circa 1906 building of the same name, Byrd & Baldwin Bros. Steakhouse was conceived and executed with a no compromise attitude rewarding guests with a memorable dining experience.
Traditional steakhouse fare (including beef aged on-site) served in an elegant, historic building.

Took my husband here for dinner, and they gave him a birthday card signed by the staff….very thoughtful touch! Dinner was FABULOUS. Our orders were cooked to perfection, no complaints about any of it. Hubby had the porterhouse (best I ever tasted!), I had crabcakes and our daughter had the salmon . The service was superb! They are fine dining and pricey for us but we knew that going in. Overall we had an awesome experience and will be back to celebrate other special occasions!

If you are looking for a bit of elegant dining for the evening, Byrd and Baldwin spares no expense to the top-tier food and service! They have an assortment of delicious wines and drinks to choose from. The she-crab soup was amazing! Just the right amount of sherry! Yum! Chicken was full of flavor, so juicy and tender. Events, birthdays, anniversaries, business meetings are perfect here, especially when you have a private room you can rent out for a fee. I recommend everyone to come and experience it for yourself! You will not regret it.

Our server Daman was as good as they come. Very informative and appropriately attentive. My porterhouse was cooked just right. The bone marrow and escargot appetizers were so good. My beet salad was the best I ever had. It wasn’t just a bunch of beets on a plate. It had blue cheese, corn, some type of small berries, on a bed of arugula. I would definitely come back.

This place was gorgeous, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was unique, classy & fun and the service was excellent. I rarely have zero complaints. The entire staff was friendly & attentive to our needs. The waiter made the most impressive drinks & was very knowledgeable. It was a pleasant experience & we’ll be going back. Just in town for a work conference. If you’re in the area and can afford the food – it’s a must see!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last night and it was fantastic. Before we moved here, we were regulars at the #3 restaurant in the United States for fine dining in Charleston, SC. We weren’t sure what to expect by B&B, but we were blown away. The valet is attentive, we were brought right to our table on arrival and the room was very ambient. We followed dress code and did not feel out of place. My filet – I can cut with the side of my fork. The lobster was the best that I’ve had.

Food, selection, service, and ambiance were phenomenal. Best stake I believe I have ever had. Great timing in between meals. Valet was great and was able to pay and tip with a card in the restaurant (nice touch). Will be back here again.

For the price I expected the food to be a little bit better….the two appetizers were not good at all (bone marrow & pancetta wrapped mozzarella) however I did enjoy the crabmeat risotto and the fish of the day was mahi mahi w/lemon butter cream sauce, delicious. Huge appreciation for the amazing customer service from Aaron and the hostess of the night. They are the reasons I would go back
