Ronnie & Joan Byers opened ‘Byers Self Service Market’ in Williamsport, MD in 1959. It was a small general store which offered subs, sandwiches, groceries, and just about everything else they could get their hands on. From the beginning, Ronnie’s motto was “Yes, we have it!” At the age of 10, their son Mike Byers started his involvement with the store by standing on a wooden Barq’s Root Beer pop box to slice lunch meat for customers. The customers and salesmen always loved Mike. Through his childhood and young adult years, Mike followed in Ronnie’s footsteps at the store in Williamsport. In November 1987, Ronnie and Mike opened a second Byers’ location on Burhans Boulevard in Hagerstown, MD.

We ordered online for delivery. My boyfriend got their steak and cheese and I got the sausage gravy with biscuit. My boyfriend said it is one of the best steak and cheeses he’s ever had. The sausage gravy is good, but is very thick. It kind of has a mashed potato consistency and flavor? I kind of taste some onion in there also. It’s very good still, and I really enjoyed it. It’s just not what you’d expect from sausage gravy and biscuits, so just be aware of that. But nonetheless the food, even being delivered, was very good! We’ll def get food from here again!

It’s ok. Homeless people always begging for food and money and rides outside tho. Kitchen is a bit dirty.
They need to be more aware of how much sodium they are using. I bought club sandwiches and the ham tasted like I poured an entire bottle of salt into my mouth…each bite. Could have sent me to the hospital. Literally the saltiest ham and food I have ever had in my entire life. Doesn’t even taste like ham. Just tastes like I’m spoon eating salt. Other food items are lacking as well.

Byers has come a long way in terms of food in the last few years. They have the best fried chicken in town! The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. They now have kiosks to order food so it makes your visit quick and easy. I’m highly impressed with the way they have advanced over the years.

Nice selection of food and snacks at good prices. I like that the bagels for the sandwiches are thin, much easier to bite and chew while still being filling and getting that bagel flavor. They have a touch screen for ordering, tho could use having two of them.

OVERLY PRICED FOOD FOR A LACK OF QUALITY AND CARE. Bought a very simple meal through door dash. A burger, BREADED wings with buffalo sauce, fries, and soda. Paid a total of 20 bucks for the meal (atleast around that) gave a 10 dollar tip and they still forgot to give me my soda. On top of that the packaging was poor, sauce got everywhere inside the bag, and even on the napkins. The food was mediocre at best, buffalo sauce tasted off, and the fries were bland. Called them up and was hung up on. Poor service overall. McDonalds does a better job than this. I FORGOT TO MENTION, they didn’t even make my order right. No breaded wings, and the burger was soggy and not cooked how i asked.

We had not been in years, and my boyfriend and I got subs for lunch. They were the best subs we have ever had. They were so thick, and just the best ingredients. I got an all american sub and he got a club, and both of us devoured them.
The staff was very friendly and even laughed with us a little. They were Friday-lunchtime busy, but still courteous and thanked us for coming in.
I work close by so I will add this into my regular rotation! Everything was exceptionally good! I might go back for dinner!

I ordered the 6pk snow white burgers and this is what i get. The picture specks for itself. Looks like they took a regular burger and cut it in four sections. We need the real snow white grill back in town. This is garbage.
