I’ve given this bakery several chances and it is not good. Their famous sugar cookies are always extremely dry. I purchased a small 5″ chocolate round cake on another occasion. The cake was very dry to the point of being inedible. I gave them 1 more chance with a birthday cake. The lady behind the counter was rude. I asked what cakes they had available. She wouldn’t tell me any flavors. I asked for chocolate w/ chocolate frosting. She brought me vanilla with chocolate buttercream. The cake was very basic. I was trying to support a local business and skip Walmart. Walmart has better cake. I will go somewhere else for my bakery needs next time.

Absolutely not a $65 cake. If they do not specialize in artistry, don’t promise artistry. This is not My Little Pony. This is Gumby dressed up as a pony. If you can do horses, say that and charge accordingly. Buy some cake decorations of the requested theme and put them on top. My husband was way too kind by picking this up. Worst part, they make you pre-pay.

If you find yourself in Harvard, be sure and stop by The Dozen Bakery, and get a loaf of “Grandma Bread.” So yummy! Extra butter and eggs is the ‘secret,’ apparently – my wife and I finished a loaf in under a day, easily. Also the donuts are quite good, as are the muffins. Avoid the coffee. Not good. Also, why aren’t a half dozen or a dozen donuts cheaper than 6x or 12x the price of one donut, respectively? If this would have been the case, I would have bought more. The business has been around since 1925, though, so they’re doing something right!

Bought four small cakes for a birthday celebration and they were delicious. Especially loved the death by chocolate.

They even had some candles

Ordered a Toy Story themed cake for my sons 2nd birthday. It was adorable and delicious! People kept talking about how cute and great it was. Will for sure use them from now on. This was the Harvard location.

We only have gone there for their cookies. My son and I have cookie day Friday and we are there every Friday getting a cookie. The staff is introverted they greet you but it feels more of a transactional interaction rather than them making an effort to foster a conversation. But anyways my son is pleased with his cookies they always have creative designs! We’ve taken some in bulk for his daycare friends and they all love them!

This is a review for your Machesney park Store… mostly for the owners to see.
Today I Showed up the day before thanksgiving… with wife and children, had almost no doughnuts available. Left to come back Friday when they open at 6. Came back Friday, There was now a sign on the door that wasnt there Weds. that said they would open at 7. So I had to wait for an hour, with my family in the car for doughnuts. The drive there and back wouldn’t have justified leaving. While we waited in the car, we discussed what we thought the employees daily routine was and how dedicated these people were to making doughnuts for the community. We also discussed how annoying it is that Dunk N Doughnuts opened a store 2 blocks down the road to steal their business . Today is the 4th time ever visiting this place.
After the hour passed, we went inside… to ONCE AGAIN… discover they were VERY short supply of doughnuts.
But not wanting to disappoint the children again, procceded to ask for a random dozen and pick from what they did have available. While waiting, I wanted to have answers to some of the questions we discussed in the car and asked the woman what time they have to wake up to make doughnuts. The woman was seemingly very annoyed (probably in anticipation, for customers to be unhappy about their supply and selection) and said, What? WE all Just Got here at 7…
Which was a lie, because at 6 when we got there people were inside walking around. So, Ok… That was a lie to a question I did’t asked… and so I said “I mean what time do you have to get up to be here and make doughnuts.
And she again (Very Rudly) said they don’t make the doughnuts, they come in from Harvard… and I just looked at her in amazment for a few seconds before returning to my family…
~ To the owners: I dont have much of a life… I was disabled and am a stay at home dad. Every day is exactly the same. I home school my children. We dont watch the programming on Television.
I’m very unappreciated and have no other family or friends in the area to have a meaningful relationship with… I dont do pretty much anything.
So, when I decide to pay for a service and products at your stores,
to then have the products I came for be mostly unavailable
and then your employee or manager steal what little joy and excitement I have to be at your store, by treating me like im a PoS… Not only will I never return, but neither wil my children. I have instilled in them the values of being kind and honest… and Never forcing anyone or company to take your money. Today, was the 4th time in 4-5 weeks that we came here. It’s also the last. That dunkin doughnuts has literally never looked so good.

Donuts were good, but service was not good. Walked in to be serviced by a woman with an attitude. Couldn’t even take a look at the donuts for 30 secs until we were asked if we wanted anything or were just looking, which was asked in a Rude way !!

Best donuts, cakes and cupcakes around! Very well made, excellent quality and never stale!

Lots of other people know about this place as well so if you have a certain type of donut you like, you may want to get there early in the day. They sell out of the favorites pretty quick and since everything is fresh when it’s gone it’s gone!!!
