Went around 3 on a Thursday, after hitting up the Farmers Market ( 100% recommend that) We both had the Fish& Chips, which comes with house cut ff & coleslaw. The fish was great, not beer battered, but still very good. I hate when the batter is crispy, but falls apart just looking at it, yknow? This was crispy n crunchy, but I could hold onto it with my fingers or fork and the piece stayed intact from the plate, to my tartar sauce to the my mouth, so that I definitely appreciated. The ff were good, but they got cold, well, were not hot when I got my wooden cutting board ( cute touch!) It wasn’t busy so I could have asked them to reheat them, and Im sure it would have been done, I didn’t want to mess around and have my fish get cold. The coleslaw was ok,if you like a creamier type, Im a fan of more vinegar-y coleslaw, and, now upon thinking of it, I wish it was colder, like, obviously, temp wise, it was not warm, but I love crisp, chilled coleslaw especially with this particular dish.
The atmosphere is exactly what I wanted, to be outside, enjoy this pre-fall day looking at the water, lots people milling about. Very Niantic, very New England . Server was very pleasant and its nice and clean, so thats a plus.
Overall, I can see their big draw being location and the very inviting bar. I’d probably not go back for the food, but for a fun time with friends, yeah, it’d be a cool spot

I stop at this nice restaurant and order the Nashville chicken sandwich and a bowl of French onion soup the best French onion soup I ever had the sandwich was hot and good taste and the French fries delicious. The service is amazing. Looking forward to go back for dinner.

Whenever we go to By The Bay all of the staff especially Andy, Angie and Maddy are so welcoming and attentive. The food is amazing. We love their creative, specialty drinks and their delicious desserts. Our favorite is the apple donut pizza, absolutely mouthwatering! Every time we go to By the Bay we have a wonderful time. The live music is entertaining and the outdoor Pet friendly environment, makes everyone feel warm and happy. We highly recommend going to By the Bay for a great meal and a fun, family friendly atmosphere.

Honestly speaking this wasn’t the WORST meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant and no I didn’t say anything while I was there which I wish I had. But let me just say the fried mozzarella was good but was drenched in grease like actually drenched. Needs to be set on some paper towels or something ahead of being served. Diet coke? Flat. Next was our entrees. I had the french dip sandwich with truffle fries. Flavor of the sandwich wasn’t bad but again dripping in grease. The aus ju was literally just jarred gravy. My mom had a burger bun was huge for a 6oz burger too much bread and was cooked well done despite her asking for medium. Anyways this meal was around $70 and was not worth it whatsoever. Atmosphere was great though. We enjoyed the view and the music. Our waitress, Nicole, was slow and the food came out slow as well.

The clamp straps were some of the best I have ever had. The burger was to temp and very good quality beef. If I would if asked for well done fries it would of been perfection. The staff is very friendly and prices were fine. I will make a point to come when I am in town!

We are locals, have been here a few times, and really wanted to like it because it has outdoor seating, a view of our bay, and the building is historic. Our visit tonight will be our last. It’s a shame. I don’t understand how with so many negative reviews for the same types of things, management wouldn’t be interested in analyzing the quality control and make some changes. It doesn’t seem like it’s ever going to be a priority. Repeatedly answering a negative review with the same generic “Sorry you should have told us and we might have been able to do something” doesn’t fix anything or change the fact that it keeps happening. You actually need to change something to make a change. If you claim you only use local and fresh ingredients, and so many are claiming it tasted like it was frozen or tasteless, guess what? someone is ruining your delicious ingredients before it leaves the kitchen.

A dead fly in beer taster glass to start. Waitress said it must have flown in on the way over, but was clearly dead.
Vodka,soda, lime( how hard is that?)
Brown rotten limes in drink. If they are nasty, just say sorry your out. Then a lemon suddenly appeared in one.
We were excited for the Pretzels. Ordered 3 orders, 6 pretzels. Pretzels were microwaved, came out smoking hot, and hard as a rock after 2 minutes.
Pretzel cheese sauce was watered down or something. I thought it was some sort of salad dressing, but was told it was cheese.
Kids chicken tenders were burnt black. Literally. I asked if they looked a little dark to the waitress but she ignored it. They tried, but wouldn’t eat it. Why would a kitchen even consider putting that out. Or why would a waitress except it ?
10.00 for a small bowl of kids ziti.
We actually came here because I was craving the Sesame tuna. I have had it before here and it was good. Not this time. It was well done and literally had only 3 sesame seeds on it. We counted.
French dip meat was dry and the beef broth was half grease and we kept trying to mix it up after it separated.
The house salad seemed fresh, but the blue cheese dressing was just mayonnaise.
I didn’t bother with my fish sandwich.
The service was pretty good though, and although I didn’t want to tip on the $150 tab of that food, I gave her 20%, because she did a good job and I felt bad because they probably hear about it a lot and are forced to mediate and make excuses for the lack of quality and care.
Yeah, we will never go there again!

What’s ever funnier is that’s my cutting board at home, from the take home box, and right before I decided,”nope, even I won’t eat it”, and then promptly threw it out it in the woods for the coyotes to eat. If it’s any consolation, it was gone the next day, so they must have enjoyed it.

We were visiting from out of town- had a fabulous meal and wonderful service, all while having live music on the patio. Our server, Nichole was fantastic and very attentive. The menu has a wide variety of selections, everything we had was delicious. The clams casino pizza was great!! Dessert was the best

We have been to their other location and we’re excited to try this location since it’s closer to us. I emailed them to make a reservation and they were able to fit our large party. We went here during Sunday brunch with my family and it was nice to see how open this brewery is and so close to the water! They had plenty of seating and also have an outdoor patio that allows dogs. Our server was really nice but they seemed to appear to be short handed because he seemed to be the one waiting and serving all of the tables. He greeted us and got us our drinks right away but then it took a while for us to order. When he took our order, he never wrote anything down and got all our orders accurately! We got a few beers like steeple people and pew pew which were pretty good. We liked steeple people better. I liked that they also offered mimosa and Bloody Mary flights. We started with mozzarella sticks which were not on the menu but the chef was able to make it for us which were good. I got the macaroni and cheese burger and fries, which I thought was a little boring. I would add cheese, ketchup and mayo on the burger but the fries were great! My sister got the adult macaroni and cheese which she thought was okay but would be better with breadcrumbs. My husband got the buffalo chicken pizza with blue cheese to dip which was good and had a nice flavor. My father got the French dip and seafood chowder which he said the soup was exceptional, probably the best he ever had. We even got a few more cups of soup to go! My mom got the eggs Benedict which she enjoyed. My son got a cheeseburger and fries and my daughter got the linguine and meatballs and both they enjoyed! Overall, this is a nice place to stop by if you’re in the area!

Went here for an early dinner and a couple of beers a few days back. Prices are about average. Beers selection was pretty good, and I think they’re all from Five Churches Brewing. We were seated facing the entrance corridor and our view was of a wooden barrier which I thought was odd. Service was pretty good. The pretzel was better than the entrees
