The Sweet and Salty Blonde was incredible. It was buttery smooth, rich, and the perfect combination of sweet and salty. It was cold, creamy, and layered. I don’t know what magical ingredients or process they use, but they shouldn’t ever change it. It’s my new #1 favorite iced coffee.
My dad was kind enough to share a bite of his Pecan Sticky Bun. It too was amazing. Moist, nutty, and plenty of caramel to amp up the sweetness.
My wife— who is picky with pastries— described the Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish as excellent, noting it was clearly freshly made. That was four hours after I bought it.
Inside the simple white building the cafe is warm and cozy. There is a small area for lounging, and another for eating or working. Outside they have ample parking, outdoor seating, and a drive thru. ️
I was so impressed with my iced coffee that I stopped again on my way back to Indy, getting one for my wife. I used the drive thru and was gone in just a few minutes. ⏱️
Don’t make my mistake. Don’t wait to try the coffee and pastries at Butter Sugar Flour. If coffee is your thing I’d encourage you to make a special trip just to try it. It’s that good. ☕️
Butter Sugar Flour in Trafalgar, Indiana is by far the best coffee and pastry shop you’ll ever visit. The quality, the atmosphere, and the care that goes into everything here is unmatched. It’s absolutely worth the drive-no matter where you’re coming from. Be sure to say hi to Kristyna while you’re there; she’s the heart of the place and makes you feel right at home. Do yourself a favor and make the trip-you won’t regret it!
Their baked goods are insanely good—you can tell immediately they’re handmade with real care. Everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and felt like something out of a home kitchen in the best way possible.
One of my favorite things is how they sell local items (the tot pictured here modeled by my wife).
And I have to mention how wonderful the staff were. They went above and beyond to help me pick out a birthday gift for my wife. They were so patient and genuinely kind about it—it really made my day.
If you’re anywhere near Trafalgar, do yourself a favor and stop in. Amazing coffee, truly great baked goods, fun shopping, and just the friendliest people. Can’t wait to come back!
What truly sets this café apart are its creative offerings. They feature seasonal coffee flights that allow patrons to sample a variety of unique flavors. A standout item is their Blackberry White Mocha—a perfect balance of rich, sweet, and fruity notes. Beyond coffee, the shop serves a variety of freshly baked goods, including croissants, cinnamon rolls, muffins, scones, and more, all made in-house with quality ingredients.
The café sources its coffee from Mylke, a small Kentucky-based roaster, emphasizing their commitment to supporting small businesses and delivering high-quality beverages. Additionally, the mugs used in the shop are from The Nook Gallery in Trafalgar, further showcasing their dedication to local artisans.
Whether you’re craving something classic, wanting to support the locals, or just adventurous, Butter Sugar Flour Coffee & Pastry Bar offers a charming and memorable experience.
Great service, friendly people and best coffee to drink.
Parking is a little of a challenge to the place. If you park in there parking lot, you’re kind of trapped going into the drive thru line. Found it best to park at the ice cream shop and walk over
