This was the first time we’ve stopped in to Butler’s since they recently reopened. The menu has expanded, so they’ve added a few more traditional items. We ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich that was on special, the chicken and waffles, the meatloaf dinner platter and the wedge salad.
The wedge salad wasn’t the traditional quarter head of iceberg lettuce. Rather it was Romaine leaves stacked on a plate and topped with a few split cherry tomatoes, a smattering of dressing and crumbled bits of bacon. It was a lot of lettuce and not much else.
The meatloaf sandwich was really good, as was the meatloaf platter. The Chicken and Waffles comes two ways: either with Southern fried wings or chicken strips. I opted for the strips. The waffle was good, however the chicken didn’t have a lot of seasoning, but it was perfectly prepared.
All of the food here is homemade and made-to-order, so you might have to wait a little bit. The waitress hustles, and the crowd doesn’t seem to mind. I’m giving Butler’s Kitchen 5 stars because of the effort and because they have a lot of potential for a little neighborhood restaurant. We will come back in a few weeks to see how they’ve progressed.

Carmen, our waitress, made our evening-friendly and knowledgeable, a delight. The dining area is Diner like with a combination of booths and chairs. I had the fried shrimp. Crispy and delicious! My wife had a large Cobb Salad. All the food was fresh and served in a timely manner, Will be back!

My family recently relocated back to Joppatowne and I’ve been trying all of the food places in the area. I read a few reviews about the food at Butler’s Kitchen and they were all positive so I had go. It’s nice to be able to take a walk to dinner and once you est it’s a great experience. The host/waiter was very personable and knowledgeable about the food and the chef came out to check on us to see I’d we were enjoying the food. I ordered the baked turkey wings, green beans, collard greens, and a half/half. It was so good (smh). My wife ordered the turkey club and enjoyed her food as well. I ordered rice pudding to take home. The portions were enough to fill you and the food was cooked just like home cooking from down south. You will be happy you stopped in.

Fantastic service and amazing southern cuisine. Servers were extremely welcoming and helpful. Shrimp and grits, Cajun salmon, mac and cheese, and collard greens were top notch and easily the best in the area. Entire experience was great and we will definitely be back soon!

Excellent home cooked southern style food. I had the opportunity to taste the shrimp and grits and ordered the baked tilapia which came with 2 sides and cornbread. I ordered the 2 sides of macaroni and cheese and the sweet potatoes casserole. Everything was exceptional with the food, the services, the cleanliness, and the atmosphere. The prices are great with the amount of food you receive. I highly recommend Butler’s. Thanks for making my first time a great place to return to again and again!

This was my first time eating at Butler’s Kitchen. The young lady behind the counter promptly greeted me and suggested sides when I asked. I enjoyed my cat fish, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato casserole. The corn bread and peach cobbler were a little too sweet for me but I know most people enjoy both items really sweet. I arrived about 40 minutes before they were closing the restaurant and restrooms were clean. I will definitely be back.

We went to Butlers Kitchen and had a wonderful experience. I had the chicken & waffles and my finance had the shrimp & grits, both were excellent. Can’t wait to go back to try the Mac & cheese, I’ve heard it’s also wonderful.

Definately a must try place. The food was fantastic, very well seasoned and fresh. Our server was awesome. I loved the menu. There are lots of choices and sides that aren’t usually available on most menus. We will be going back.
