Came here for a late dinner for two on a Monday night, no reservation needed and we were sat right away. This place isn’t quite like all the other Italian places I’ve been to around the island that love to shape their atmosphere around brick and that old world Tuscan villa kind of vibe. It’s much more modern and contemporary, and I actually kind of like that, even if the cheesiness of the others does give a nostalgic feel to me. There’s some paid parking on the street and in a few nearby lots, and if you really want to stretch your legs there are a few free lots just a little bit further down the road.
Our server, Jeffrey, was fantastic. On top of being very friendly and helpful, he checked in on us more than I can say for a lot of other restaurants! Sure it might have been a slow night, but he still made sure we were taken care of.
Starting with some cocktails, my date got a glass of red wine and I got one of the seasonal cocktails, the Angel’s Share, very bright and citrussy, I might not classify it as a fall drink per se, but it was delicious nonetheless. On to the food! They start you with some complimentary warm bread and garlic knots, which is always a good sign (make sure to save a slice for dipping is my word to wise). I got the grilled chicken with spinach and roasted peppers and my date got the ravioli pomodoro. The ravioli is as classic as it gets and I loved the plate they served it on, but we both agreed the chicken was the better of the too. A lot like chicken florentine and paired with some deliciously crispy potatoes, its not a dish to be slept on just because it isn’t deep fried and covered in cheese. And on that point, one thing that actually really endears me to this place a little extra is their healthier options, like chicken meatballs, fish and veggie options, plenty of grilled over fried options, and a gluten free menu that’s longer than anywhere else I’ve seen! The portions are also a bit un-italian, and what I mean is that they are not disgustingly huge, which is a good thing! Although I am a sucker for leftovers. We finished up dinner with the chocolate peanut butter cake as the perfect sweet treat. I’d be delighted to come back here and try out more of the menu anytime.

We went as a party of 8 on a Sunday for an early dinner. The restaurant was less crowded at that time so we were seated right away. The menu was extensive and there was even a Gluten-free section with lots of choices. Everyone enjoyed there meals. They were also accommodating, my son doesn’t like ricotta and they left it off his pizza, my sister wanted some protein with the ravioli so they add the breaded chicken into the dish.They also have a kids menu for the picky eaters.

While we experienced wonderful service (no complaints there) the food was lacking at best. I ordered the stripe steak, my favorite cut. The meat tasted old or just horrible quality. Any meat lover would understand this description. Metallic taste kind of like iron, barny, chewy with a gamey taste that left a coating in my mouth. I NEVERRRR write reviews, I was just so disappointed I felt it was my obligation to let it be known as this steak cost $50 bucks. While service was perfectly ok it was not why we went out to eat. Unfortunately we will not be patronizing this restaurant again. Hopefully they will reconsider where they source their steaks from in the future. Best of luck to them.

This is my second time here and once again, it did not disappoint! My two friends and I came here on Wednesday for lunch. We shared a Sunday Salad (lettuce, cucumbers, olives, red onion, pepperoncini, and foccacia croutons dressed w/ light housemade vinaigrette dressing). I love salad and this hit the spot…(not a fan of hot (spicy) foods so avoid the pepperoncinis if you can relate)! Lunch was Zucchini “Linguine”- Butera’s famous housemade chicken sausage, crumbled, asparagus, spinach, and roasted tomato over thinly cut zoodles in a white wine sauce. It was delicious if just slightly too tangy. A light sprinkle of Parmesan cheese balanced the flavors perfectly though. We shared a warm gooey brownie sundae topped w/vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream for dessert. It was yummy. All serving sizes were very generous and I took leftovers home.

Exceptional Italian food! Arancini in homemade sauce was delicious! Riccotta gnocchi with spinach, mushroom and pink sauce was beyond good! Fettuccine with bay scallops and lump crab meat was a serving so large, I have plenty of leftovers! Excellent staff!

I have been to both this location and the Sayville location. I seem to like Sayville better. The food here is good for the most part but im giving the food a 3 because I did not like the shrimp appetizer I ordered. The texture of the shrimp was mushy. Maybe it marinated in the lemon to long. I just didnt like it. Service was ok, not exceptional.

I work at Willy Nilly and many customers have come in talking about Butera’s so my best friend and I decided to go for lunch today, (4/8/25). Really pretty dining area and our server, Lisette, was attentive and very sweet. We both had the grilled shrimp salad and enjoyed it very much. We also had a plate of meatballs that were delicious.

I had the best meal of my life here. I know that is a bold statement but I’m being serious. I came here with my family. There were 9 of us and Stephanie was our waitress. Stephanie was lovely, very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon with a risotto cake. Everyone in my family enjoyed their meal. Also had the rainbow cookie cheesecake. My palate was in Heaven from start to finish. Favorite favorite favorite restaurant ever.
UPDATE – I’m genuinely disappointed to be writing this, especially after previously giving this restaurant a glowing review. My first visit here was incredible—I came with my family and had one of the most delicious dinners we’ve ever had. The service was top-notch, and I couldn’t stop raving about it. I talked about it so much that for my birthday, my mom, brother, and sister each gave me a $50 gift card to this restaurant, knowing how much I enjoyed it.
Fast forward to my recent lunch visit with my mom and husband. Our bill came out to around $140. I handed over my three $50 gift cards, thinking it would be a smooth transaction. But to my shock, I was told that only two gift cards could be used per visit. I’ve never encountered a policy like this, and it honestly felt like a bait-and-switch. My family gave this restaurant $150 of their money in exchange for gift cards, yet I wasn’t allowed to use all of them as intended.
We used two of the cards, and I paid the balance with my credit card, but the experience left a bad taste. It’s upsetting to feel penalized for being a loyal customer who brought in more business through word-of-mouth and gifts. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning after this. It’s such a shame because I loved this place.
