Very well rounded atmosphere. As comfortable dressed up for special occasion or casual dress for a night out. Food is excellent. We had reservations for a birthday. Two ordered the sirloin, one the ribeye and one pasta with sausage. Appetizers ordered were Bone Marrow and Whipped Feta. All meals and appetizers received two thumbs up from the party.

Butcher’s Union is one of the top spots in Grand Rapids for a reason, and our latest meal here proved why the kitchen is so highly regarded. We started the evening with the Peppercorn Slab Bacon, which was easily the highlight of the appetizers. It was thick, perfectly rendered, and had just the right amount of kick from the pepper, and sweet from the sauce.
For our main courses, I ordered the 8oz Wagyu Sirloin and my wife got the Swordfish. Both dishes were amazing. The Wagyu was incredibly tender and cooked exactly to my preference, while the swordfish was remarkably fresh and moist, which is often hard to find. We capped off the night with the apple cobbler, a warm and comforting dessert that provided a great finish to the meal.
The only real drawback to the experience was the pacing. The restaurant was clearly at capacity, and as a result, our waitress made us feel a bit rushed throughout the night. It felt like they were in a hurry to turn the table, which made it difficult to fully relax. Despite the hurried service, the food quality is undeniable and we’ll certainly be returning.

Excellent food. The steak my wife had and the meatloaf I ordered were both very tasty. Cocktail prices were reasonable, and I recommend Pink Lotus. Neat atmosphere with dark wood panels and copper-colored tin ceiling, classy interior. Service was very good. It was quite loud but we were still able to have a conversation without a problem.

went here for my birthday dinner, was absolutely delicious!!!!! i got the tenderloin which was cooked perfectly and it came with crispy potatoes and seasoned cauliflower (pro tip use the rosemary butter on the potatoes) the slab bacon appetizer was tooo good, don’t skip it! the section we sat in was dimly lit, kind loud music, and had plants hanging from the ceiling, it was very pretty. our waiter was so polite and attentive, although i didn’t get his name, but service was amazing and all the staff were so friendly! my only gripe is i wish they gave more vegetables, they were super tasty!! thank you guys for making my birthday memorable and delicious! i can’t wait to go back, all the food looked amazing, excited to try something new next time!

I’ve had 2 steaks in my life, from a restaurant, that were good, let alone excellent. This is #2, the other one was in Poland and cost way more.
Drinks were fantastic, service was excellent.
Please get the Rockefeller Oysters, they’re excellent.

Place was packed and we snagged a chair at the bar while waiting for a table. Cocktails were delicious. We met Bruce, a regular who gave us recommendations for food, which were all delicious. Everything was excellent and it was obvious by how busy it was on a Monday night. Love the water in empty bourbon bottles. Will definitely be stealing that idea!

We went in for a birthday dinner and were absolutely blown away. The extra touches to making the special day even more special were wonderful. We ordered the 8oz Hanger and the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf as well as the Brussel Sprout appetizer. All of which were delicious. Our server was lovely and did an amazing job. The whole experience was above expectations.

We went here for a friends 30th birthday and loved the whole experience. We were able to reserve a table for 6, and the host was super helpful when we called ahead asking about bringing decorations and a cake! Food was excellent and service was fast and attentive! My husband got the burger and I got the shrimp scampi. Both were amazing!

For as much as they boast about the quality of their steaks, they couldn’t cook either of the two we ordered properly. Both steaks pictured were ordered medium. One was medium rare on the top and blue on the bottom, and the other was medium rare on the left and blue on the right. No idea how that happened. Waitress shrugged and that was apparently the end of it.
We were not fans of how everything was just thrown on the plate like a stew, and everything on the plate tasted the same – like the sauce it was all was coated in.
With half of each steak inedible, it was a very disappointing experience with a very expensive price.
