Took a group of nine guys here for lunch. Everyone really liked their selections, from the grilled ahi sandwich, daily special rib tips, and house-made sausages, to the pickled vegetable and dirty rice sides.
I got a cheesesteak and asked for it with the Philadelphia tradition of white American cheese. The steak was smoked, nicely seasoned, and tender; with ample onions, and hot and sweet peppers all perfectly charred. Chili-cheddar cornbread on the side. They have Coke Zero, so nothing lacking here.

Neighborhood barbecue storefront. Order at the counter, they deliver to the table. Large takeout business, line forms in the middle of the dining area.

Food was good, presentation was fine. potato salad gets a 5, Mac n cheese gets a 2. Elbow macaronis and some thin white sauce in the bottom. Brisket was a 5, tri-tip a 5.

Overall recommendation: good local barbecue takeout joint.

Ordered the brisket plate with green beans and pickled vegetables. The best part of the meal was the pickled vegetables. If the brisket was dry and didn’t have a ton of flavor. I always say if you have to put sauce on your brisket it’s not good. Needless to say I ended up eating it with sauce. This is a one and done for us.

This is a very pleasant surprise!! Finally a place that does BBQ and grilling with stellar results. The tri-tip was super tender and done to a really consistent medium. Super flavorful!! I had the pulled pork sandwich. Sandwich included coleslaw and unsauced pulled pork that was perfectly cooked. Soft, flavorful, juice….couldn’t ask for more. They offer 3 different sauces if you want to bring more flavor to the table. My fav was the sweet and smoky sauce. Only comment would be to watch the salt. I am super salt sensitive. The ranch beans and Texas chili were both so tasty but saltier than I prefer.

Staff was super helpful as we navigated our first time for a dining outing.

We will definitely be back. I think it is best bbq in Reno/sparks area.

This place lives up to the DDD hype. My food was delicious. I got the half rack rib plate, which came with two sides and garlic bread. It was so much food that I struggled to finish. I highly recommend the “sweet and smoky” sauce. YUM!

Being from Texas, I know good BBQ, and this was great BBQ! I usually don’t like pulled pork, because so many people make it really sweet, but theirs was perfection. The slaw on top was excellent as well, and the sauce was a little chunky that I really liked. The brisket was exactly how I like it, and the spices were the ideal compliment to the perfectly cooked meat. Speaking of spices, the seasoned fries were a pleasant surprise as well – well seasoned and crisp. This local establishment has the nicest people behind the counter, and I would plan another trip to Tahoe and Reno just to have their brisket again. Well done!

I would say a 7 out of 10 as far as BBQ goes. Good food, good service and good atmosphere. Meats weren’t super tender. Flavor was good. Had the 1/2 rack of ribs with tritip. Tri tip was warm ribs were hot. Bbq sauce was good. Definitely worth trying out. Maybe I caught them on a so so day.

We tried the brisket burrito from Char-B-Que and were absolutely blown away. The burrito was incredible—loaded with tender, flavorful brisket and wrapped perfectly. The homemade sauces took it to the next level—seriously some of the best we’ve ever had.

Even better? We fed our family of four for only $45, which is almost unheard of these days. Amazing quality and value!

We love supporting family-owned small businesses, and Char-B-Que has definitely earned our loyalty. We’ll absolutely be returning—and recommending it to everyone we know!

I enjoyed my meal. It’s a BBQ joint, not a place to get a 5 course meal . The price was fair, the food was good, the service was great . Some of these people giving poor reviews have crazy expectations.
The menu here was unique, but it still covered everything you’d expect from a BBQ place. I’m ready to go back and try some other things on the menu. The meat was definitely tender and tasty. I’m looking forward to my next visit

First time visit. I was very pleased with what we ordered. We had a por boy shrimp sandwich, a tri tip sandwich and a brisket sandwich. All three were filled well and the meat was super tender. The slaw with the shrimp kicked it up a notch. I will be back to try other items.
