Our first visit , my daughter had the Wellington, I had the Stuffed Chicken both were EXCELLENT, the only thing my daughter didn’t like was the glaze sauce poured on the Wellington she said next time she’ll have it without. My chicken was really good and I loved the carrots. For appetizer, we had the Bavarian pretzel with a spreadable cheese sauce. That was amazing. Will DEFINITELY return. Jeremy our waiter was adorable and served us well…

We visited Butcher & Rose with high expectations based on their marketing and reviews, but the experience was inconsistent for a premium price.
The arrival felt disorganized with an overcrowded lobby with multiple groups waiting to be seated. The seating felt like a lottery; while the main dining room is beautiful, we were placed in a small side room near a busy bar that felt more like a casual patio than the elegant dining room shown on their website. It was loud to the point where our server had to shout to be heard, which significantly detracted from the fine-dining atmosphere we expected.
The food, however, was mostly excellent. The Parker House bread and Potato Anna were stand-outs. Both the French Onion and Lobster Bisque were well-executed. For mains, the Beef Wellington was solid, and the Miso Sea Bass was cooked perfectly, though the shrimp dumpling filling’s texture felt off. The “Tropic Like It’s Hot” cocktail was great, while “The Rose” felt a bit simple for a signature drink.
Ultimately, the kitchen is talented, but the “side room” experience makes it hard to justify the premium price. If you aren’t seated in the main room, the value proposition for a special night out just isn’t there.

Me and my boyfriend came to Butcher and Rose for Valentine’s Day this year, we came the Thursday before and by the time we got back in the car we were both just in awe of how amazing everything was. First, we tried to find parking which was a little tough but then we looped back around and saw they offer $15 valet parking for dinner time which was awesome, that whole process was seamless. We walk in and it is just absolutely gorgeous, we also didn’t realize how big it was! There is enclosed almost patio-like seating, a regular dining room (which is where we were seated) and an upstairs area as well. We had made a reservation about a month beforehand and were seated almost immediately. We are seated at a table with a little sign on it that even said happy Valentine’s Day which was super sweet. Our server Janelle was also incredible. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and answered every question we had asked with great info. We started with their signature drinks “The Butcher” and “The Rose”. Both amazing drinks, and the butcher was Wagyu-washed makers mark?!? WUUUT?!? Delish. Then got the dirty tots which were incredible, instead of the basic cube like potatoes inside it was mashed potatoes, amazing. My man had gotten the Wagyu flight, it was our first time trying Japanese A5 Wagyu and it is definitely worth the hype. Ended our meal with the crème brûlée which was HUGE but like Janelle said, “there’s always room for crème brûlée”. We both agreed it was the best meal we have ever had. I never do reviews but this felt necessary. Thank you Butcher and Rose for the best date night ever!

When fine dining is brought to my attention I’ll remember our time at Butcher & Rose. From the first hostess interaction to the final bite of our creme brulee we felt blessed. We sat at a high top near the entrance and still felt secluded. Not to mention our high top seats were super soft and comfortable. As I made my way to the bathrooms upstairs I wondered how the seniors who dine there feel about the climb. The bathrooms themselves were a 10/10, I loved the individual stalls and treats within. What an overall fulfilling experience for my wife and I. Thank you ❤️

Jennifer was a wonderful server. Patio was beautiful for a date night. Food was great, cocktails were beautiful and flavorful. We had the dirty tots and bread for an appetizer. Butcher and rose cocktails. Mac n cheese steak and Wellington for dinner. Creme brulee for dessert.
Valet was $15 for dinner.

Beautiful atmosphere and elegant décor. The place was clean, the cocktails were good, and the servers were very kind and attentive.
That said, the prices felt quite high for the overall food quality. The ribeye was good, solid and well prepared, but one of our group ordered a burger that was overly greasy. It was made with a beef and lamb blend and unfortunately did not meet expectations.

I took my Wife here for a date night to see if the hype was true. She ordered the filet and I ordered the wellington. Unfortunately, her filet needed to be returned because of the quality of the meat (tendons). My wellington was great and definitely would order it again. Both the potato anna and carrots were great compliments to our entrees. The service must be noted, its 100% top notch. I don’t think I’ve had better dinner service anywhere in Columbus. But at the end of the day, for the money, Jeff Ruby’s is the best Steakhouse in Columbus in my opinion.

Butcher and Rose provided an exquisitely elegant dining experience, with a refined atmosphere and meticulous attention to detail that elevated our evening. The exceptional service and delightful ambiance were particularly noteworthy. Although I’ve visited many steak restaurants, this was my first time here, and it was well worth making it a destination during our weekend in Columbus for a Buckeye football game. Our visit coincided with our 9-year anniversary, and the staff made it special by presenting us with a card and multiple congratulations.
The decor and location exuded a swanky vibe, making us feel rather affluent. I chose the butcher’s special cut, a beautifully marbled A5 Wagyu bone-in dry-aged ribeye, arguably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My wife opted for the Dutch Harbor king crab legs, and we shared a side of chili-roasted broccoli, which added a tangy twist that I thoroughly enjoyed. The wine selection was extensive, and the restaurant’s fresh bakery on the second floor ensures every dessert and bread is baked in-house.
We indulged in the Parker House bread before our meal, which had a unique rye salt taste and was incredibly soft and fresh, enhanced by the cultured butter. Since it was our anniversary, we were treated to a complimentary slice of their in-house baked cheesecake, which was rich and delicious with a pistachio crust and raspberry drizzle. For a top-tier dining experience in Columbus, Butcher and Rose is a must-visit. Although it didn’t surpass my previous experiences at The Precinct by Jeff Ruby, it certainly matched their high standards, with the Wagyu cut being one of the finest steaks I’ve ever enjoyed.

Everything was exceptional. My wife and I drove up from Cincinnati to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and this was our first time visiting. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance—elegant yet welcoming—making us feel immediately at ease.
The staff provided attentive service with genuine warmth, ensuring every detail of the evening felt special. Each course was beautifully presented and full of flavor, clearly prepared with care and creativity. My wife had the 16oz Long Bone Duroc Pork Chop with the Potato Anna as her side. I opted for the Salmom Steak with Glazed Carrots. The sides are shareable. The Parker House bread is wonderful.
The restaurant not only delivered an outstanding meal but also helped create a memory we’ll cherish. It was the perfect setting for our anniversary celebration.
