I asked for a cocktail they didn’t know but i gave them the ingredients and it was perfect.
Fried green tomatoes for an appetizer that were delicious. I ordered the crab stuffed trout special even though I’ve never had trout before. It was so good. Vegetables and rice that came with it were done perfectly too.
My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak. His only comment was that it could have used more cheese but it was good.
We also had the nicest sweetest server. We will return here again and bring family and friends.
The service was decent for that many people, she was a bit overwhelmed, but seemed to recover pretty quickly. I think with experience and time she will get better with bigger parties.
I got the 4oz Burger and sweet potato fries, and it was decent. Lacking. On flavor a bit but overall good quality meat.
Kids got sliders and steak bites and both gave them 10/10.
Also got the salmon with baked Mac and cheese, salmon was phenomenal, but the Mac and cheese was really dry.
For appetizers we got the jalapeño poppers and the sweet potato fries. Jalapeño poppers were good and came out hot. Sweet potato fries were served hot and they were satisfying. Dip for the fries wasn’t butter, but it was good.
For entrees we got the prime rib, taco pizza, and full rack of ribs.
Prime rib – ordered it with the fresh horseradish. Horseradish was good and packed a nice amount of heat. Au jus was good, complimenting the prime rib. Ordered the prime rib medium rare, it was closer to medium well; still very good.
Taco pizza – good flavors, crust was extremely good. Components all tasted and appeared to be above the norm for places that serve pizza. Best pizza in Jackson County without a doubt (we’ve tasted the rest, this is better by far). The pizza was our favorite item we had while dining here.
Rack of ribs – decent, not as tender as other local options. Sauce and seasoning were similar to other local options. Recommend going full rack and having leftovers, small 5 dollar difference between half and full rack.
Sides – mashed potatoes were decent, not great or bad. Coleslaw was not our thing, we thought there was only two ways to make coleslaw (vinegar and sweet) and discovered there’s at least a third… I believe there was sweet gherkin sauce or gherkins in the coleslaw. Definitely different. Good chance some will love their manner of preparation. Baked sweet potato was good, served hot with ample butter to place on the potato. Fresh local vegetables were good, squash did have a “green” taste. Hard to describe, still good though.
Restaurant was exceptionally clean, tables were cleared and cleaned quickly after customers departed. Some minor goofs, all likely to be remedied after the restaurant has been around more than a week; nothing concerning.
My daughter got the pretzel burger which was clutch. She finished it and said it was fresh and one of the best burgers she ever had.
And there was only 4 steaks but there was only one of the 4 (they only had 1 New York Strip left). We decided to go and try out the steaks they had. The steak weren’t bad but not what we were hoping for; food was decent otherwise. The atmosphere was good. It wasn’t real crowded. They took us straight to our seat with no waiting. The waitress was sweet but seemed very new. All in all it was good. But I’m glad we didn’t take the family because of the situation with the steaks (That’s what everyone was wanting). So we would rate it three and a half Stars all together. But very thankful for the Butcher Block and that we have a decent restaurant to go to; not so far away! Thanks Butcher Block!
Worth the drive off of the highway!
Kylie was our waitress and Kate were very friendly and attentive. Our food was whisked out together in harmony like a Michelin 3 Star venue! Nice job!
