IT HAS BEEN YEARS SINCE I’VE BEEN HERE

So, first time I came here it was a cute little place with hardly anyone inside appreciating the amazing food and baked goods.

WOW what a turn around, someone got the memo because this place was PACKED, like legitimate overflow everywhere. Though it was a weekend so bear that in mind, they have a beautiful large table inside where you are expected to share and snag a chair as soon as someone leaves it lol. Their bakery case was a beauty of baked goods that you simply could not choose from without lots of difficulty and I still have regrets (in the sense of what I couldn’t get)

Ok let’s talk about all the things we got

Peanut Butter Cookie 5/5 INSANE! Now I remember that these were even way back when one of the best peanut butter cookies I’ve ever had AND it’s a monster of a cookie

Pistachio Chocolate Dipped Shortbread 5/5 OMG this was so good, there is none of that nasty extract but also there is SO MANY PISTACHIOS it was glorious

Chocolate Chip Cookie 5/5 I don’t know how to explain how happy I am to just order a chocolate chip cookie and get exactly what I ask for, no disappointment, no pretentiousness, A solid cookie that isn’t insanely sweet or too gooey, just perfect.

Hamburger 5/5 Such a great sear and overall cook on the burger, it was delicious, decent size, great quality beef, yeah I’d order again

Fried Chicken Sandwich 5/5 I got this with the mild pimento cheese, didn’t want to risk it being too spicy. Beautifully cooked chicken, nice and juicy, great bun, I did towards the end take off some of the pimento but that’s just a preference. Both the sandwiches came with chips.

I would say if its been raining you may want to make sure you have a towel or an extra jacket as not all their outdoor benches are under cover and you may end up on a damp bench. Seating inside is very limited and it is cut throat in there so you might be stuck outside. It was quite a bit of a wait to get out food (there was also LOTS of take out orders) but it’s nothing I would dock them anything for, good business is good business.

Go to spot for when we pass by again

A must-go!! If you are in the area, definitely stop by. Had one of the best breakfast burrito’s i’ve ever had. This cafe is top notch providing brunch/lunch, drinks, and a yummy selection of bakery items. Pastry selection was really nice and the items were fancier than I expected. They also have a selection of charcuterie products and gift items. Only thing that can be tough is seating inside as there’s limited tables and one big community table, but we were able to get a table after waiting a bit.

We had a good picnic-style lunch here on a Saturday afternoon, early fall. It was pretty busy but the wait for the food wasn’t too bad. And there was enough parking nearby to handle it. There’s a nice big field adjacent to the restaurant and picnic tables scattered about. Fun place for dogs.

The food was good! We both got the chicken sandwich and were well satisfied. Potato salad was solid.

It’s awesome that businesses like this are thriving in the smaller towns on the peninsula. We’ll definitely stop by again on another trip through town!

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but this place is doing a real disservice to its customers. On 3 separate occasions over the past 6 months, I have received a significant amount of ROTTEN lettuce in my food, both in side salads and the burgers. This isn’t just a few wilted pieces, which can happen (no big deal), but in every single order I’ve received, half of the lettuce has been brown, mushy, and SLIMY.

For the amount of money they charge for their food, this level of quality is unacceptable. It’s disappointing because this establishment has a lot of good qualities, but the ongoing carelessness in repeatedly serving clearly ROTTEN lettuce is disgraceful. Like how could you in good conscience put that on a plate to serve to someone? Baffling.

The photos show just some of the pieces I pulled out of my burger so you can see the level of rottenness for yourself.

This place might be a bit overrated. Yes the fried chicken sandwich was good 4/5, but the turkey on focaccia bread was average 3/5, lemon bar 3/5, and chocolate pudding 3.5/5. The outdoor seating offered very little sun relief. Inside was better. However, not a big place. The person taking our order was disinterested.

Such a fun place, the food is excellent and the service staff are amazing. I had the fried chicken sandwich and a slice of the spumoni cake, which i am still eating a few dayss later as it was quite a generous size.

Wow! What a great space! Indoor and outdoor seating, amazing baked goods and coffee. I enjoyed a ham and gruyere croissant that was massive, flakey, and delicious. Great coffee too. My friends got a variety of sandwiches and quiches, everyone was very happy we stopped. Port Gamble has become a bicycle hotspot and the local businesses are stepping up to cater to the crowds. Bravo! We came to bike, stayed to eat!

Must stop if in Kingston! This cafe has great vibes and makes for a quick stop, with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Their food is fresh, creative, and delicious. Their dessert display is absolutely scrumptious. I won’t admit exactly how many desserts we ordered but it was more than the number of people we had dining there. 0 regrets.

Food was very good but but mysteriously salty and cold in parts. It was also pricey for what it was. (a couple of pot pies with salad, drinks, and cookies–came close to $100, ouch) Would love to see a readable menu, not in all caps please. Baked goods are divine. Service was exemplary. We were there close to closing and the bathrooms were unavailable shortly thereafter. Appreciate the fresh dog water though. We’ve missed this place in the past because it closes so early (7pm on Saturday night). Overall, recommend it. Watch out for that first step — it’s a doozey.

Y’all. If you’re considering the fried chicken sandwich, I’m here to tell you: get it! If you’re looking at something else, I’m sure it’s good, but if your friend/loved one/ stranger at another table gets the fried chicken sandwich, you’re probably going to regret whatever you got. (In truth, I’m sure everything is delicious!)

Super cute gem of a place with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. Love that there’s not only a lot of outdoor seating, but also a big park right behind the restaurant, especially if you have a fur-baby with you. Will definitely make it a point to stop here on future visits to Port Gamble!
