To whom may this concern
I had a wonderful time at butcher and singer. It was my 36th birthday. I had no one join me but they made me feel like I had someone had the butcher salad which was excellent. Porterhouse for one one. The only thing I have to say about that is it could have been seasoned a little better but other than that it was excellent. Mashed potatoes were on point. Super creamy, delicious their biscuits 10 out of 10 creme brulee was phenomenal as well. atmosphere was spectacular my server Ben top notch went above and beyond to make my birthday special, highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a good bite to eat in Philadelphia. I am from New York City so this was definitely a different experience. Thank you again to the staff at butcher and singer and once again thank you to my server Ben for making my day special

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Masterclass in Old Hollywood Glamour and Prime Dining
If you are looking for the definitive “Power Dining” experience in Philadelphia, look no further than Butcher and Singer. From the moment you step into the soaring, Great Gatsby-esque dining room, you know you’re in for something special. Our recent meal was a choreographed symphony of classic flavors and impeccable technique.
The Cold & Warm Starters
We began with a selection from the raw bar and traditional French appetizers.
• Chilled Lobster & Shrimp Cocktails: The presentation on a bed of crushed ice was stunning. Both the lobster and the jumbo shrimp were exceptionally fresh, sweet, and firm, served with a cocktail sauce that had just the right amount of horseradish kick.
• Escargot: These were swimming in a rich, herbaceous garlic butter that demanded to be soaked up by the accompanying crusty bread. A quintessential steakhouse classic done to perfection.
The Main Event: Steaks and Chops
The kitchen’s ability to achieve a perfect char while maintaining a buttery, tender interior is unmatched.
• The Signature Steaks: Whether you go for the classic cut or the Steak Oscar (topped with a generous portion of lump crabmeat and velvety Hollandaise), the quality of the beef is evident in every bite. The crust was seasoned beautifully, locking in all the juices.
• Lamb Chops: For those looking beyond beef, the lamb chops were a revelation. They were thick, perfectly medium-rare, and possessed a deep, savory flavor that stood up to the heavy hitters on the menu.
The Essential Sides
A steak is only as good as its companions, and the sides here are stars in their own right.
• Creamed Spinach: This is the gold standard. It was rich, silky, and seasoned with a hint of nutmeg and garlic—easily some of the best in the city.
• Garlic Broccolini: A much-needed pop of brightness and crunch. The sliced toasted garlic added a wonderful aromatic layer to the tender-crisp stalks.
The Grand Finale
We couldn’t leave without sampling the legendary dessert menu.

Loved everything about this restaurant, even the valet parking right in front of the entrance as it was freezing outside last night. Husband enjoyed his first taste of escargot. The wine suggestion from Ashley, our waitress, was great. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated – the wait staff removed any sign of crumbs and straightened the table cloth at every visit to our table. Perfect place for a date night (ours happened to be on a Monday). My ONLY complaint is that we heard the entire conversation of a couple seated next to our table who were on their first date. We were seated at the first half circle table to the right and their table sat just above and behind us. Other than that, Butcher & Singer was EXCELLENT. It will be one of our go-to restaurants.

I recently went here for a company dinner and absolutely LOVED ITTTT!! The delmonico has a very special place in my heart and I will reunite with it very soon.

So for starters it did unfortunately take like 15 mins for us to be seated but I’ll chalk that up to them being busy, and it was two days after the snow storm so they probably were short staffed. This is my only con, and I’ll still say the service was amazing.

Must haves are the: shellfish platter, delmonico, and the stuffed hash brown. And I got the sweet nothing mocktails since I’m doing a dry 90 days and it was delicious. The ambience here is very relaxed, and the bussers were very quick to remove dirty plates. Our waitress was also amazing, unfortunately I didn’t grab her name but I will be returning very soon. Thanks b&s!!

I was in Philly for work and was lucky enough to experience Butcher and Singer. They honestly served the best food I have had in my life. This is not an exaggeration – I’ve dined in many incredible restaurants but this one takes the cake. My last meal on this Earth would have to be the sea bass – I’ve never had something so perfect, mouthwatering and incredibly delicious! We also had the best server I’ve ever experienced- Brian! He was so knowledgeable, professional and on point with everything. Not only does he sound like Morgan Freeman when he talks but he is such a gentleman and made our experience so special and memorable. This place is just magic, it is an absolute gem and an experience I will never forget. Thank you

We went to visit Philly for Christmas Eve and we arrived the night before and were so hungry so we google for good restaurants, and guess what? I think we were so lucky to have one of the best restaurants in town. We had to wait because we obviously did not have a reservation but the high cousine food and the service plus the ambience was FIVE Star. We will definitly return when we to Philadelphia next time! Our waitress ASHLEY was the best!!! Thank you! PS It was very closed to this unique Church that we went to see after dinner despite the bitter cold.

BEST steakhouse in Philly and maybe the country…..I’m not exaggerating. I’ve been here 25+ times and the food has never not been perfect. The biscuits are unbelievable and being from down South that’s right up my alley. The staff is AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Small menu and that’s a good thing because there’s nothing on the menu that isn’t amazing. If you visit Philly this is a must and you can’t beat the vibe in this building….tall ceilings, comfy seating, the music…all of it.

Had the best experience at Butcher and Singer, out for my husband’s birthday. The rolls were melt in your mouth delicious, I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was cooked to perfection! My Crab Cake was also extremely tasty, lump crab savored in every bite. Exceptional service and a birthday plate to finish off our evening. Priced for very special occasions for sure.
