I ordered a turkey & swiss and it had lettuce and what was likely half a cup of mayo & mustard. See photos. No tomatoes, black olives, or anything else. $16 (cash only) and out the door.
Also, checkout the slicers and food prep tables in the photos – they were a mess. Meat left out & countertops are not cleaned up.
This was just OK but not enough where I’d return.
My friends and I got the pastrami and the belly buster (pastrami/meatball). Needless to say, this sandwich is huge and basically almost 2 meals. The pastrami was very good and moist and tender. Not too fatty. The peppers are a nice touch and the sandwich was soft along with the spread. The meatball was apparently the winner out of the two for the belly buster. It’s been said the sausages are pretty good too.
Parking is free but very hard to find especially on peak meal hours. I’d come back here to try the other items they have. It’s roughly about 20$ per sandwich and they don’t take credit card here.
Well, 40 years later, the same family owns it and it was just as good upon my return as it was all those years ago.
We not only had a lunch during our visit to Pedro but be we stopped and got a couple more sandwiches for lunch before our flight at the airport on our way home.
It’s nice to see that some of the the “old places” are respected and remain reliable!
Thanks to the Lee family for keeping the memories alive!!
No line since I went early when they opened, had to try their specialty Belly Buster with sausage and meatball. Cash only so came prepared.
Wasnt sure if it was going to rain again that day so decided tp bring it back to where I was staying. Lucky thing because this sandwich is a mess when you dig in…. Lucky I didnt stop to eat it at a park. Bread held up somewhat though a bit soggy from the tomato sauce but its a hearty meal and a great sandwich. Only went through half the sandwich before tapping out.
Would go again and try their other less messy subs… 4 stars
