This is my all time favorite sushi spot. The owner is extremely kind and makes you feel special just for stopping in. The best sushi I have had in my life. The white tuna is 10/10. Honestly, anything you order will be amazing.

The sushi is fantastic and the staff is super friendly!
Just about every time I bring her the waitress (I think she may be the owner but I’m not sure) is super kind. She’s given us complimentary tempura banana, cookies, and even an orange one time.

Tonight was the first time we’ve spent anytime in Venice proper. While looking for something ethnic for dinner, we came upon this small, quaint Japanese restaurant in historic downtown Venice. An excellent choice for dinner. Sushi was handmade and my chicken teriyaki contained generous amounts of chicken & fresh veggies. A small wine list made up for the lack of hard liquor. When passing near Venice again, we’ll definitely return.

I recently had the misfortune of dining at Buishudo, and let me tell you, it was a culinary catastrophe of epic proportions. First off, the soup looked like something straight out of a horror film—seriously, it resembled sewer water with some random greens floating around like they were trying to escape their fate. I half expected a rat to paddle by and ask for a lifeguard!
Then came the steak hibachi, which was a masterpiece of disappointment. The watery onions were practically swimming, and the rice? Oh boy, it was just plain white rice that had been introduced to soy sauce but never really hit it off. It stuck to my chopsticks like it was auditioning for a role in a bad rom-com. And the steak? Cold and chewy, like it had been cooked yesterday and just decided to crash the party. Honestly, if you want to ruin your appetite, Buishudo is the place to go!

Bushido is an excellent sushi place on Venice island. I eat here a couple times a month whenever I need my “fix”.
The portions are generous and the prices really aren’t bad either. Compared to other nearby sushi joints, Bushido beats them all.
Their special rolls are really good as well as their bento box lunches. All prepared fresh and hot (or cold) once you order.
The staff is friendly, attentive and courteous. I’ve yet to have a complaint.
There is a small adjacent parking lot but more (free) parking can be found on the streets surrounding the block.
You won’t be disappointed and be sure to try lunch there some time.

I usually eat here alone, at the sushi bar. I haven’t had table service. I see some folks bitching about that, and it may be true. I’m simply relaying my experiences having eaten here a dozen times. So YMMV…
