I’ve been here multiple times, and every time has been great. The staff are always great, the vibe is wonderful, the food and drinks are excellent. I especially appreciate the many vegan options that are delicious.
Every time I bring a colleague here they end up enjoying it too, so it’s not just my opinion.
Don’t miss perusing the bookstore while you are here. They have great unique items, including many local authors.

Great choices for food. Place was a little busy. It was 130 when we arrived. The chicken with mashed potatoes is was very tasty. The other party had a vegan sandwich. It looked very good also. The noise level was high. No sound absorbing in larger dining room. Over all very enjoyable.

If you’re hungry right now, this is not the place to go. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly. But several times it’s taken 30 minutes or more for my food to arrive. I don’t understand it. Even when it’s not busy, it’s incredibly slow.

Really one of the best places to eat in Takoma Park. Not noisy and good ambiance.The self care mocktail was really good! Our server Allison was very attentive. I had the chicken with sweet potato pancakes and they were delicious. My friend had her usual Turkey burger and enjoyed it. Her husband is vegetarian and also likes it.

Had a nice time there. It was super slow like only 2-3 tables. I found a piece hair in my ice cream scoop that went with bread pudding. The girl took forever to come back and It was melting so my boyfriend decided to pull it out and eat it anyway. When I told her about it after we were almost done… she said something to the nature of well you already ate it and joking. Not even an apology or offer. I’m thinking well…If you weren’t gone so long, maybe I could have informed you before I ate it. It’s not like they were busy! If I was working a restaurant and somebody mentioned a hair in their ice cream… I would definitely get them another or offer immediately. So gross and rude to think this is ok. My friends agreed this was odd who knows what other type of oh wells they bend. I ate the bread pudding which was good. Ice cream ball was small compared to the cake anyway.

Location is nice, the atmosphere is very welcoming ( has the potential to be a little loud.) A nice variety of book selections.food was amazing 5/5..service was decent ( perhaps short staffed) The table it self had a sticky feel which was unpleasant but overall great experience.

My burger & salad were exactly as ordered and very good! Wonderful customer service. I recommend dining here. There are also many great books and artwork displayed available for purchase . The ceiling painting is beautiful . Clean restrooms as well!

On 9/24 I ordered a burger, crispy fries and a ginger ale. I was charged 30.35 but only got a burger. When I placed I thought the fries and ginger were just hidden in the application. When I received the bag it was light and I immediately called. Nobody answered but next day I reached a very nice supervisor who if he could, definitely would have helped. It was out of his range so we care @bus boys and poets stepped in and have argued and ignored my request for refund. I am sadden to see a well known chain risk reputation for 30.35. Lost customer and for what 30.35 smh

Another DC restaurant that has raised prices and lowered standards. We came in for brunch for the first time in a while. It wasn’t slammed at all, but service still seemed slow. Mimosa prices have gone up, but food is usually good so we didn’t trip. The table was wobbly the whole time and they couldn’t fix it. Got my eggs Benedict and the egg yolks were cooked. My pancake was cold. The jalepenos in the jalepeno grits were extra hard. I didn’t see the guy for so long that I couldn’t tell him until the end when we were ready for checks. All I really wanted to complain about was the eggs. The waiter was cool, but food quality has gone down. He said he’d take off the pancake. The basic eggs Benedict was $18 dollars and the eggs weren’t even cooked right. They should’ve taken that off instead.
