If you are in the mood for pizza that is 80% bread, you will love this place. The pizza is a slab of dense bread crust with a single layer of sauce and a scant amount of cheese with your chosen toppings.
For the price, they’ve gotta be hitting a massive profit margin because they’re basically charging 30 bucks for glorified frozen pizza.
I would love my 27 bucks back.
We started with the bread sticks with marinara sauce for an appetizer. They were solid and were buttered well. For our main course, we went with the large (14”) thin crust pizza with jalapeños and mushrooms. We loved it! The crust was cooked perfectly and I could tell the jalapeños were cut fresh! The next time we go back (because we both agreed there will be a second time), I think I would like to try their Chicago deep dish pizza as it looked very good.
Overall, I would recommend this to anybody in the greater Lafayette area who’s in the mood for some good pizza and beer with a nice sports atmosphere.
The service was extra extraordinary in the food was incredible – for being in Indiana. It’s some of the best deep dish I’ve ever had.
While the restaurant was quiet and empty and played good music, the server was kind and witty.
Definitely a place I would go back to
The Deep Dish is purposely not the same style as other Chicago places people might be familiar with but is instead more similar to Pequods (which all true Chicagoans know as the superior deep dish…).
Our server was attentive and informative, asking us if it was our first time in and educating us on their offerings. She made sure to check in on us frequently to make sure everything was good!
The pizza was stuffed full of cheese, pepperonis, and huge chunks of Chicago style pinched sausage. The sauce was very fresh and acidic which helped cut through the richness of the other ingredients as well. The edges of the crust were the STAR of the pizza, perfectly caramelized cheese bits with a phenomenal crunch. We ordered a medium and it was MASSIVE, and had half the pizza to take home afterwards.
The main thing to remember is that the pizza is deep dish and takes longer to cook than thin crust so HAVE PATIENCE (that goes to all the 1 star reviewers who complained about wait times).
I will definitely be back to try even more of the menu, and as of right now this is better than all of the other pizza places in the area.
Ambiance in the restaurant is good. Very spacious, but can have limited street parking on weekends.
The cannoli were tiny and a bit over priced for their size IMO. I’d rather gotten two larger ones than 4 small ones, personally. Overall, good pizza, a bit out of the way being down town, but if you’re close by, 100% worth checking out.
