I was on my way thinking this was a new spot for me to go. Once I walked in I remembered being here. The smell was so good. Seeing all the meats they have was good too. I was pleasantly greeted. I had mentioned I had not been there for awhile. I was given a pickle. It has a really good taste. I got the YUMMY. Guess what? It was really yummy! I highly recommend you try this gem which you probably drove past a million times and didn’t know they were there.

What a gem!! small Jewish deli in a strip mall, I’m jealous libertyville lucky to have a jewish deli like Burt’s!! 5 stars all around. They have been serving up platinum standard corned beef and pastrami sandwiches since 1975 when Burt opened the place, which is now run by his Son and Grandson amazing humans! They have a lot of passion for what they do. Their service is top tier and warmth and friendliness and they make you feel like you’ve stopped in to visit with family for a bite. The Yummy sandwiche honestly one of the best sandwiches l’ve had. It was hot and stacked with meats on excellent rye bread with mustard and melt cheese phenomenal. Both corned beef and pastrami was so warm and tender melt in your mouth came with 2 speared pickle which was perfect! My mouth is watering just writing this review thinking about it. It’s Definitely worth the $15 it’s stacked with so much MEATS!! I watched him slice the pastrami and corned beef and assemble the sandwich along with plenty of conversation and wise cracks. Very personable guy and very Chicago, in my opinion Bert’s deli is way more superior then Manny‘s deli in the city, mannys has dry meats and stale bread!! and it’s also definitely 100x more superior than Kaufman‘s in Skokie!! I will definitely be making the drive out for the yummy anytime I’m craving a corned beef and pastrami sandwich! 100% Recommend!!

This little neighborhood gem is 5 stars on every turn. They have been serving up gold standard corned beef and pastrami sandwiches since 1975 when Burt opened the place, which is now run by his son. As someone who is not a fan of pastrami or corned beef , I went in thinking I was going to do a Turkey breast sandwich. Nope! The owner encouraged me to taste their corned beef and it was love at first bite. My friend and I split a sandwich and it was truly Chefs kiss!
The service was top tier and warmth and friendliness and they make you feel like you’ve stopped in to visit with family for a bite.

Burt was very friendly. Yummy sandwich was great. Pastrami and corned beef was very tender and well seasoned. Bigger would be better, if I could have fit it in my mouth. Love the drink choices.

The corned beef here is cut the way I appreciate the layers of a sandwich to be built. It isn’t chopped like some people stack their sandwiches. It’s cut lengthwise and sets up for a delicious sandwich.
In short, this is a very nice place. The owner or so he seemed is a kind and humorous individual and his fellow coworker was a diamond in herself.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The Yummy is so worth it! One of the best deli sandwich I’ve ever had! Drove 30 min to go try Burts Deli and was not disappointed. The owner was just closing but helped us anyway! So nice and funny. Made this first visit . Food so fresh. Made with care. Lovely experience. Will go out of our way when ever in the Chicago area to come back. Thank you Burt for taking good care of us and for making an INCREDIBLE SANDWICH! It was accurately named!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been coming here for almost 10 years and see no end in sight. Ralph and his family are the best ever, serving up quality meats, good service and conversation everytime! Limited hours but very well worth it to make the trip or the time allotment. Stopped by for a Saturday lunch, fairly busy but was still attended immediately. Ordered a Reuben with a Doc Browns Cherry Coke. Ralph even gave me a sample to try, the corned beef is overly amazing. Came with a sliced pickle. Love the atmosphere of the Deli itself, none in Lake County can even compare. You want high quality pastrami/corned beef, family owned fast and friendly service, Burts Deli is the place for you.
