Used to come here often when it was Alvaros. Back then the food was good and the value was amazing. After changing the food was the same as other prices but now way overpriced. Thought they were bringing back something good with Taco Tuesday, but of course the tacos are now mini. Takes about three to equal the size of an old Alvaro taco.

The best beef rolled tacos. Plenty of lettuce and tomatoes, fresh salsa and pickled carrots. There is also an outdoor area to eat. The bathroom was very clean I could smell the fabuloso . This was my second time here.

I used to go to the Escondido location, that’s what turned me onto these Guys. Since I moved back From the American South I have been checking out the Sabre Springs location and it’s been good today this morning December 26, 2025 the salsa are exceptional every single one I’m glad you guys have the green tomatillo, and the very delicious spicy pico chunk. A lot of places don’t care about their sauces and salsas Or provide carrots for their customers and you guys do all of it is gonna keep me coming back. I ordered a Cabeza taco, birria Taco, and shrimp taco. All three were exceptional juicy shrimp great sauce, I don’t like barria too much, but once again this meat is very good quality there are million taco shops out there and you guys have quality meat. I put the Cabeza and the birria Together- that’s a new taco all by itself baby. The employees and the chef are doing great at this location thank you guys I’m gonna keep coming back

Big improvement over the previous Mexican restaurant at this location. Everyone was happy with their orders. The staff was nice, even though I was the last order on a Sunday night. I will leave a more detailed review after my next trip (we will go back again)

I walked in to get food to go, the cashier made me feel rushed ordering, I could barely get one item out before she was totaling my check. I had to tell her I was ordering few things. I do like they have a self serve salsa bar with carrots. Definitely the best part of the restaurant.
I ordered rolled tacos and a California burrito. It had to be the worst California burrito I have ever had. I thought we lived in San Diego with some of the best Mexican food around. Turns out it is NOT the case. The rolled tacos were good enough. Prices are high, but they are high everywhere. However, I later tried to order a small fountain soda. They were charging $4.50 for a small soda that was definitely less than 12 ounces of not even a brand name soda. Needless to say, I did not order a soda. Luckily there was an am/pm in the same parking lot where one soda was enough for three people for .86 cents.
Would I go back? For rolled tacos but not anything else. Especially not a soft drink.

I haven’t had the chance to visit this spot in person yet, but I did put their California Burrito to the test through a DoorDash order. Normally, delivery food loses a little of its magic by the time it hits your doorstep, but this burrito still packed plenty of flavor and held up surprisingly well. In San Diego, I’ve tasted everything from the gold-standard California Burritos to a few disappointing pretenders, and I’d rank this one solidly in the upper-middle of the pack. My guess is that fresh off the grill, it would easily climb higher on that list. For now, it definitely hit the spot and satisfied the craving, and I’m looking forward to stopping in for the full experience next time. If you’re in the area and hungry, this is a place worth checking out.

Both times that I’ve been here since it’s open I’ve gotten a California burrito with extra guacamole. And the first time that I got one it blew my mind it was by far the best California Burrito I think I’ve ever had so I was beside myself while eating it trying to figure out how I could possibly taste so good. The second time I went there about a week or so ago, I heard the same exact thing and it was still good don’t get me wrong but it was just not up to the level of the first one that I bought. So I’m going to have to go back a third time and order it again just to make sure that the second time wasn’t a fluke or if they had a bad stuff that night. Regardless best burritos are good and I would definitely recommend have you tried this place at least once if you’re around the area because this place it is a lot better than most of the other Mexican food places around here.
