The Castro family opened El Patio Mexican Restaurant on Nov. 10, 1999. By 2008, the popular Water Street spot had expanded with a modern tequila bar and a quick burrito service that brought the Mexican classic back to its roots: Delivery.The burrito first became popular in 1910 when Ciudad Juarez – also known as Chihuaha – would wrap his food in big, warm flour tortillas to keep it fresh as he went out for a day’s work. It quickly caught on and Chihuaha began delivering his now famous food.

Regular spot for lunch for me. I typically go with the #2 steak burrito with macho sauce. Staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. They are attentive to customers. Food is very well priced considering the portion size they give you. Free chips and salsa with your food. Thanks el patio and burrito express.

Awesome food, but last time waiter played dumb with me when I tried to order Burrito X without pico. “No meat?” “No guac?” Way too many stupid questions, please fire him, because I’m disappointed how my lunch break wasn’t respected and I took 30 minutes out of it just to drive here. I didn’t get to eat when I wanted a burrito x without pico. I never met anyone who is this dumb.

We walked in, seated ourselves, and the waitress came over with an attitude. She wasn’t very pleasant until the end of our stay where she acted a little nicer. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it came out tasting flat, I took it up to the bar and they gave me a free frozen one, which tasted better. However, the food was delicious and makes me want to come back!

First time ordering. Ordered cuz it we close to my job and I didn’t pack a lunch. Ordered the lunch fajitas. They give you a lot but I ordered like 15 min after they opened so I expected food to be fresh. Nope! The best thing was the tortillas and staff person. The meat is clearly leftovers or as I call it, twice baked. I don’t know why they put beans and rice next to cold lettuce? Beans were cold when I got to my office. And no salsa? I guess it’s extra..They were fast but honestly I have a rock in my stomach. No bueno.

TLDR; over-priced street tacos because they aren’t on the menu.
I ordered 3 street tacos (meat, onions, and cilantro only) with limes. 3 tacos for $22+ (no side dish). The waitress did not inform me I would be charged for substituting onions and cilantro (instead of cheese and lettuce). She did not bring me limes so the tacos were dry. I was not aware it would cost $7.50 per taco. I brought the bill to the waitress’s attention and she said it’s policy because street tacos aren’t on the menu. I won’t be going here again.

Normal customer here. And today was very much unimpressed. Burrito came with everything inside it… OUTSIDE it and pretty much balled into a big clump. I’ve given my money to this place about 3 times a week for about a year and I was charged extra and my jaw dropped when I opened the foil to find this mess of a mess. Fix.
