The pretzel was good, no complaints.
The soups were remarkably small for the price–for ~$11, where most entrees are around $17-20, you’d expect something relatively substantial. These were tiny cups, even then only half full. If I had to eyeball it, the bisque was maybe 4oz assuming an 8oz bowl, the chili possibly 5 or 6. The chili was very good, but most of the volume was sour cream. The bisque was more gelatinous than it was liquid. Yes, bisque is thick by definition, but it shouldn’t sit in a pile on a spoon and jiggle. It also had very little actual lobster in it (if any, it was very hard to tell what was shrimp and what wasn’t); I’d be more okay with the price to volume ratio of there was perceptible lobster meat.
The smash burger was very flavorless. We each tried a bite and it was just not good. Just meat, bun, and wet. The waiter was very kind and took it off the bill, which we were very grateful for. The fries were good still.
The Milanese was tasty, but kind of…amateur? I feel bad describing it that way, but genuinely I could have believed it was something from the premade section at the grocery store that you heat and assemble yourself. The cutlet was well seasoned and fried, but the “herbs and greens” appeared to be chunks of iceberg lettuce slathered in a white sauce.
The waiter was very nice and we made sure to tip him well in cash. I have only ever sent food back at a restaurant once in my life before this so I was so nervous, but he was so understanding and made it a total non-issue. Maybe the restaurant was having an off day, but there were too many things that just weren’t good or worth what we spent that I felt compelled to leave this review.
Food was really good and well priced. Drinks were great. Waitress was terrific – I wish I remembered her name. This is a great place and the indoor portion is sooo cool during hot summers. I recommend this place for sure.
