My family and I heard for a friend that this place was wonderful. So we ordered 3 shrimp Poeboys with cajun fries and an order of shrimp jambalaya along with an order of sweet potatoes.
It might of just been because we came at 9pm. the shrimp on the poboys where extra extra crispy with to much breading on the shrimp they where just about burnt. it didn’t help that there was extra shrimp breading on the sandwich as well. Veggies were fresh on the sandwich bread has a light crust to it so it is not soggy. (Out of the 3 poboys we have about 2 sandwiches combined that ended up as dog treats.) It is large enough to share with someone else.
The cajun fries are fantastic crispy with just enough seasoning.
The Jambalaya is spicy with a thick tomato paste/sauce with tastes of peppers and onions along with a fried egg, shrimp with tail on and sausage. the Rice is al dente. I enjoys spice but this was a little much for my taste. Definitely ment just for one person, not enough to share.
The highlight of this meal was definitely the sweet potato’s they were soft but not to soft saucy with that sweet cinnamon buttery backing. It was enough for me and my husband to share the kids even had a few bites.
For the 103.42 before tip I’m not sure if we will be back to feed the whole family but might be back to get some side dishes.

One of the best new restaurants in St. Paul. Everything we ate was delicious but the french fries were the best I’ve ever had! The bourbon chicken sandwich and the mac and cheese definitely were delicious and like nothing else in the twin cities. The philly cheese steak was like an upscale version with a twist but so delicious and flavorful. I think flavorful is the word for everything here, we will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Had a wonderful lunch here. Bourbon chicken sandwich was awesome as well as their fries and sweet potatoes. The Philly cheesesteak and catfish poboy were also tasty. Portions are crazy big at this restaurant!

This is some of the best flavor I’ve had in St. Paul! The voodoo smash burger is delicious, a nice kick with a nice chimichurri style sauce. The fried rice jambalaya is packed with meat and flavor. And the chicken!! The sandwich was juicy and perfectly crispy. Go here now if you haven’t yet!

Heard of this place at the Minnesota State Fair. Excellent service and food. #hearingfriendly Could hear the chef gently instructing new people in the kitchen. What a great teacher. The chicken was crisp. Tender and juicy inside. Best we’ve had. Clearly a gem in Minnesota. Has to be the best fried chicken in MSP.

We had such a good time at this restaurant. Just stumbling in it on a random Thursday night, our server was so friendly and knowledgeable, it was greatly appreciated. The Chicken was just soooooo good too. I am not a bbq smokehouse girlie but the smoked chicken wings…. PHENOMENAL! The texture, the smokey flavor, and then the crushed peanuts for the frogtown sauce, absolute fire, took it over the edge. Additionally we had bourbon whiskey chicken sandwich with a pineapple coleslaw on it. Ooooh my gosh don’t you dare pass on that coleslaw, it is soo good! And the batter and fry on the chicken thigh, oh my goodness, I have been dreaming about that texture and flavor. We also split an order of Cajun fries which was plenty because they give you so much. But it’s beer batter fried and super thin cut, my absolute favorite. We can’t wait to take friend back here.

This is a new hole in the wall restaurant that we found and I’m so glad I went. Small joint, cute kid server with great manners and and top-notch service. My partner ordered the catfish po boy which looked and tasted amazing! It’s enough to share with two people. I originally had the jambalaya and although it smelled great and came loaded with sausages, the rice was a bit undercooked. The chef and owner of the restaurant immediately replaced my meal, with no issue and brought me out the best burger I’ve had in a long time. I will no doubt be back again to support this black owned business, especially since they went out there way to make sure I had a pleasant experience. We all deserve a little bit of grace and the opportunity to grow. Shout out to them!

Stopped by on a short trip to St. Paul and was very impressed by this little spot. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor with great portion sizes for a reasonable price. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with Cajun Fries and it was the best I’ve had outside of the deep south with a great heat and balance of flavors. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very authentic with the smell of delicious food and the sounds of the kitchen adding to the ambiance of an authentic experience. Definitely recommend.

First time trying, and it did not disappoint.
The Nashville Chicken sandwich ($13) was a sizeable piece of chicken. I often think these kind of sandwiches have dryer chicken. This wasn’t dry. I might have liked a little more sauce on it, but the flavor was good.
I had the Catfish Po’boy ($18) the next day. I tried a couple pieces of the fish rightaway and it was good. Although it tasted pretty good reheated, I suspect it would have been a lot better eating it fresh. It was a nice size po’boy, well stuffed. I wish it came with some sort of hot sauce (maybe that’s extra?).
I’m guessing the other food is good, and will update this when I try this again.
I had ordered online, worked pretty well. There was no tip option online (that I saw), had to give a cash tip.

We walked in right when they opened and was seated right away. I have been wanting to eat here and was in the area.
We got the double smash which was amazing. Just a tad bit on the salty side but the beef delicious. The side of mac and cheese alone is worth coming back for. The wife got the cheese steak and this thing was huge and the french baguette was fresh. Well seasoned and tasted phenomenal. The fries were hot, crunchy and tasty.
Service was great. The young lady was very welcoming and attentive. A very good experience. My only complaint was the cold plate our food was served on. It made both the bun and baguette cold. We will be back!!!!
