Now more than 40 years later Burns Original BBQ has steadily grown its customer base and is still creating great food out of the original and still standing building that Roy Burns Sr. started it all in, and the delicious scent of barbecue from our wood smoke pits still drift in the streets and passers- but can’t help themselves. Being known and voted as #1 in Houston for barbecue we continue making and serving great barbecue including our signature rib sandwich and loaded baked potato. The partnership with Kroger in 2021 has allowed the Burns Original BBQ brand to expand to locations all over the Great Houston Area! Each location takes pride in presenting that Burns Original BBQ traditional meats and sides.

I ordered two 1-meat potatoes – one with brisket and the other with sausage, but when I got home I saw I was given two sandwiches instead.
The sausage and brisket was seasoned well, but not cooked long enough to render the fat on the brisket.
You order from a line and can order online also, but the pickup spot is the same whether you ordered in person or online so you end up waiting for your order anyway. There is only one register, so if there’s a line be prepared to wait.
It’s designed well with Anthony Bourdain featured in their mural for Burns BBQ with options for individual or family meals.
The location in Houston is better food and service, but this will do in a pinch if you don’t want to drive to the Northside.

Fun times at the opening of Burns BBQ Bistro inside the Pearland Shadow Creek Kroger. Arrived around 1130a and the line wasn’t long so I did a little returned to a super long line, my mistake. They kept the fed with free samples of cake, cookies and lemonade. There’s was a lot of excitement with Burns and Kroger personnel visiting with the people in line. Vibrant. I ordered ribs and brisket. Both quite tasty. Anthony Bourdain (RIP) is featured and celebrated at this outpost. I will return to try other items; except, maybe the desserts HAHAHA .

Decided to finally try this BBQ spot inside of Kroger. The sauce was phenomenal but the brisket not so much as you can see. Hate giving bad reviews but probably won’t try them again $18 for super bad cuts of brisket is disheartening.

This was inside of the Pearland Kroger. It was not too busy being a last minute shop for final Thanksgiving groceries.
Things moved along quite well as my partner and I stopped at The Starbucks inside to fuel on some coffee along with a blueberry muffin.
We proceeded to pick up the rest of our Thanksgiving items and used the self checkout.

Horrible and want my money back. Sausage hard all over. Under cooked brisket. Forgot my Mac n cheese and paid $50 for this? There are better bbq place like Killeens, Pappas bbq anything but this! Shut it down or fire all the cooks!

When I say horrible that’s exactly what it was HORRIBLE!
Ordered a (1) Meat Plate and I really would’ve preferred for them to tell me they sold out than to take my money for garbage.
Ribs tasted as if they were boiled and left from the weekend.
I asked if the potato salad was homemade since the other sides looked like they had been on the steam table from the morning.
The potatoes in the salad was HARD as if not cooked.
But I get it it’s pre cooked.
Yes Burns is definitely not the same….
So closed this damn location and stop serving this poison.

Not impressed at all. My first visit to the Chain. I ordered the brisket plate with beans and potato salad along with an extra side of Mac and cheese. The brisket and potato salad are both dry. The potato salad was bland and the brisket is dry with no flavor. I’m so disappointed. I will not be visiting again.

Update stop lying because people were complaining they had the same issues last year. You will never get my business. Big Horn completed my Family order in less than 45 minutes. I wasted 4 hours of my time waiting on a order that you never had. You really deserve a negative 10 rating. Do better!!!!

Okay Now I love bbq and I’ve heard a lot about Burns but I would never be buying again
I ordered a 3meat plate
Brisket- texture was mushy on a few pieces and smell was off. I decided not to chance it so I didn’t eat any.
Chicken- very dry and only 1breast sliced in half
Sausage- very delicious nice texture and flavor
Potato salad- wasn’t even served in a true serving size but it was very tasty
Beans – they r good not just your basic beans.
Main course which are the meats where not goodat all but sides I like.
Overall I will not be back and will stick to my bbq place that never goes wrong.
You guys definitely disappointed me because I’ve heard such good things.
