Popped into the Westgate food court and was immediately drawn to Burnout BBQ—and I certainly wasn’t disappointed!
There’s plenty on the menu for everyone, but I went for a burger and it was extremely tasty and surprisingly great value. Honestly, for what you would spend at McDonald’s, you can spend the same here and get proper, delicious burgers that genuinely fill you up. It’s a huge step up!
The service was fast, and I found the overall atmosphere to be friendly.
Overall, this spot is well-priced and delivers on flavour! The only minor challenge is that seating in the general food court area can be difficult to find during busy times, but it’s well worth searching for a spot. Highly recommend Burnout BBQ for a satisfying and affordable meal!

Burgers are better than others you might find at fast food outlets in town but they ought to be at the price. £13.50 for a burger and some lukewarm chips, with no drink, feels like a lot. The Westgate Social had a lot of kids in it and late teens who were hanging out and doing a lot of loud swearing in a rather threatening way. I didn’t feel comfortable so I took the food away to eat elsewhere. This was about 5.30pm on a Tuesday.

We discovered BBQ Burnout during a shopping trip to Westgate Oxford shortly after moving to the area and were really impressed on our first visit — the burgers, sides and milkshakes were fresh, flavoursome and excellent value for the price. Our second visit was also largely positive.
Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing in comparison. The burgers lacked the flavour we had previously enjoyed, were overly salty and heavily loaded with strong cheese, which felt inconsistent with our earlier experiences. Given the premium pricing, consistency is something customers naturally expect.
Following feedback shared with the business, we were advised that refunds or goodwill gestures are not offered and that any issues need to be raised at the time, with replacement meals provided instead. With this in mind, I would recommend allowing extra time when dining here, just in case a replacement is required, as this could effectively double the time you need to eat.
That said, the business did respond to our feedback and advised they are looking into recipe consistency. When BBQ Burnout gets it right, it really does stand out — hopefully consistency improves going forward.
