Best Korean BBQ with the most delicious and various seafood menu! We’ve been here a few times already with friends. Definitely recommend!

Burning Shell was such a great experience. The space has a cozy but stylish vibe, perfect for a casual night out or a special dinner. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and welcoming.

I’ve been hearing about this place a lot recently — it’s basically Korean BBQ but with seafood. Came on a weekday with a group of 8, and while it’s usually busy, we grabbed a table in the back patio so we didn’t have to wait too long.

We went with the Captain Set and the Crew Set. Both came with banchan and cold Korean noodles, which were super refreshing alongside all the grilled seafood. Everything is cooked over coals, which gives it a nice smoky flavor that really brings the seafood to life. I even tried hagfish for the first time — definitely unique, but glad I gave it a shot.

Price-wise, it feels a little high for what you get. At the end of the day it’s just seafood, so it didn’t really fill me up the same way a KBBQ set would. But the quality was good, and I liked that the meal finished with a hot noodle soup — comforting and a nice way to end the spread.

Overall, it’s a fun spot to check out with friends if you’re into grilled seafood and want something different from the usual KBBQ routine.

I checked out this spot last Saturday for dinner. We got there pretty early around 5 PM and we were seated right away. The place is really small, and I don’t think they take reservations, but they do have a waitlist.

We ordered the crew set, which is meant for three people, and it came with all the banchan from the companion’s list. Everything was flavorful. I get why people mention the clams being tiny after cooking, but that’s just how clams are. If that’s a concern, you can always order à la carte.

Since we were a party of three, we added another pancake and cheese corn. Just a heads up, you have to pay for extra banchan, unlike some regular K-BBQ spots where it’s unlimited. We also tried the sea eel. It was good, but I wasn’t blown away, and honestly, the menu felt a bit limited.

This place was hyped up a lot on IG, but for me, it didn’t quite live up to that. The staff were great and really attentive and ready to help at any moment. One tip: they provide a single glove, so use it to handle the burning hot shells and avoid burning your skin!

Overall, it’s a little too far for me so I’d probably choose another spot for this kind of meal closer to home.

CAN ONLY ORDER PREFIXE MENU! I came here alone once because I had some time before getting to the airport, I saw that they allowed a la carte so I went in but it was not the case. With that said, Absolutely my favorite spot in LA. I love everything about this place. Seafood is fresh, side dishes are superior, pancake was amazingly crispy and well seasoned. Ceviche was so freaking good. Corn cheese is just perfect.

Pairing all these sides with the seafood was absolutely amazing. We had way more food than we could ever finish. I can’t imagine anything more perfect. I just wish they allow a single person to come in and order it.

Service is superior. They work very hard to cook the food for you, making sure everything is cooked to perfection. Price is also amazing. It is a very good deal. Would come back here every time I come to LA

Amazing seafood bbq. The prix fixe set comes with a lot of extras. We ordered the Master Set for 5 of us. We also ordered sea eel and live octopus separately. There’s good parking behind the restaurant. Front of restaurant was a lot of homeless people unfortunately.

One of the best Korean BBQ I’ve had, the amount of food you get for the price is insane here. Almost couldn’t finish all the food we had so be warned, come hungry, come very hungry. The seafood is fresh from the tank and the cooks time the meat just right so that it’s not overcooked so you don’t have to worry about ruining the food. Highly recommended for anyone who likes seafood.

The pictures you see are not even close to the total amount of food we got. We had more dishes not seen.

Seafood was fresh and all the side dish were delicious. My favorite side dish was the sashimi cold noodles. Small warning: unlike regular Korean restaurants, here you need to pay extra to refill the side dish.
Wait can be long sometimes.
