This was my first time ever having Burma food and it did not disappoint. This place is amazing, the food is so incredibly flavorful and the dishes are so unique. Even the rice here with coconut is just amazing. We weren’t able to get a table inside due to long wait time so we just sat outside but the servers were also so kind and gave us blankets because it was a little cold. 10/10

We had a great dinner here!!! The portions are huge and the outdoor seating area is great for groups. We enjoyed the tea leaf salad, samusa, palutha, chicken noodle soup and the garlic eggplant. Lovely service!

We were a group of 7 and unfortunately didn’t have a reservation but trying to eat at 5:30pm. They were so thoughtful and accommodating to get us a table. It was our first time eating here so we all tried something different. The chicken samosas were delicious along with the palath bread and dip. For entrees we had coconut curry, crispy and spicy chicken, walnut shrimp, fried rice and garlic noodles. Everything was fantastic and service was excellent. Our server Rio was awesome along with all the other team members. Ginger lemon drop martini was so good I had to have another one. I also had my first taste of Thai iced tea and wow was that great too. Very small place but excellent meal and atmosphere. Definitely a repeat restaurant anytime I visit Alameda.

Burma Superstar is always on my must-visit list whenever I’m in the Bay Area! My absolute favorite dishes are the mango salad and mango tofu—both bursting with fresh mango flavor. The sesame tofu and the tea leaf salad is also a must-try. Highly recommended !

I have been to this restaurant in Alameda several times in the past. The service is always excellent, courteous and helpful waiters. Food items are really tasty and down to earth unique. But two Sundays ago, it is a disappointment. We had a 1pm reservation and the place is packed, but a kind gentleman moved to the counter so we can have his table for two. I am looking forward for their famous Tea Leaves Salad and saw they have lunch specials that has Samosa Soup with Tea Leaves salad. We also ordered Chili Lamb with Ginger Salad. The Chili Lamb with coconut rice is yummy. But here’s the kicker, the two salads looked identical!! There’s not even a shadow of tea leaf in the other salad. Perhaps it is a mistake but, the other ingredients of the Tea Leaf Salad is missing too. I should have taken a picture… anyway, the samosa soup didn’t even have a small portion of samosa (the triangle stuffed samosa I know of). It is just plain soup… maybe the bottom part of the pot. But don’t get me wrong, perhaps we got the short end this time, I will still patronize this restaurant, but I’ll avoid the lunch specials because I think you get what you paid for. Next time, I’ll order the Tea Leaves Salad à la carte.

Good first experience with Burmese food. Chicken Samusa’s were nice crisp and hot, 4 moderate size portion, could easily be shared. I was recommended the Nan Gyi Dok as a common favorite. Big portion of food mixed tablesize that was well seasoned. It was a good portion of noodles with not as much chicken as I would’ve liked. This dish could easily feed two if you’re not a person who eats a lot or could fill a good and hungry person. If I had requested extra protein I could’ve split this into two meals. The weather was beautiful so enjoyed the outside dining which was largely empty and a pleasant surprise to enjoy. Overall very happy with the visit and would recommend if you enjoy southeastern Asia food

We went there for sunday lunch and it was excellent experience. We got the Burmese python, which is a great cocktail and paired well with salt and pepper calamari. For main course we ordered garlic noodle with chicken and chicken kebat. Both of them were moderately spiced and go well together. Altogether very fresh food with fresh incidents. Highly recommend, if you looking for Asian food and in the area

Had a great time here. Everything we tried tasted fresh and well-balanced, and the flavors came together really nicely. The drinks were smooth and worked perfectly with the appetizers. Our main dishes were cooked just right — flavorful without being overwhelming, and clearly made with care. The whole place has a relaxed vibe that makes the meal even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for quality Asian-inspired food and a genuinely pleasant dining experience.
