The baby back ribs are also not smoked and very tough. Dry is an understatement and flavor was lacking.
The beans are from a can. Period. The end.
The fish fry was edible but way below average for the area. You can’t mix and match. You get one choice unlike other options.
The pomtini is misleading. There is no pomegranate juice at all. Just pom vodka.
The beer menu is on chalk on the wall with no description.
The service was lacking as well. We were never asked how our meal was despite the fact that I only took one small bite of my so called brisket.
The building has a nice interior that is warm and welcoming but that’s where the positivity ends. It has a dive bar atmosphere which is fine since the place is clean. But if it’s a dive bar call it a bar not a tap and smokehouse.
The pricing is way too high. $100 for two drinks each and one meal for two people. Other options in the area are much better for a lower price.
I really wish they would get their food nailed down because we need a decent smokehouse in the area. Unfortunately they don’t seem to know what they’re doing.
I legitimately feel taken advantage of and I would have been better off burning a hundred dollar bill.
Food was on top.
Plenty of beers to choose from and just a great place.
Spicy Bloody Mary was amazing.
Despite other reviews, as a backyard BBQ guy I had to try the BBQ platter. I asked the server if it was good and she assured me everything is “smoked in house”. The “brisket” was a JOKE. Zero seasoning, zero smoke, zero flavor, cut with the grain (BBQ 101 stuff). It wasn’t cooked “low and slow” to render out the fat. Between the unrendered fat and cut improperly it was literally inedible. The other reviewer was correct, the little flavor that was there was closer to Italian beef. I got the server and said it was very bad and kindly asked for pulled pork instead, she asked why, I described the above and she swapped me out. The pulled pork was arguably worse. Mushy, overcooked, shredded to bits, zero flavor/seasoning/smoke. Read it again – the BBQ sucks bad, is not smoked and an abomination to the expectations people have when you say it’s smoked in house
The sides (beans, coleslaw, potato salad) tried harder, were decent, but tasted like they were multiple days old. It was this point in the meal when my pregnant wife noticed that the water pitcher we were drinking out of had visible chunks of debris in the bottom of it. Disgusting.
Normally I’d give ’em another shot another time, but they really blew it across the board I have zero desire to go back. Peeping into the kitchen there appeared to only be two younger guys (for a busy Saturday night). When you’re just plating reheated stuff that was cooked days before perhaps that’s all you need but nothing added up.
Credit where credit is due – my old fashioned was great (the second one I ordered never arrived) and the Kielbasa was also excellent! Presumably because they don’t make it, they just heat it up on the grill.
