Just ate there for the second time since moving to JC and won’t bother going to any of the steakhouse places in the big city any more. The staff makes you feel like you’re coming to their home for dinner. You’re welcomed, and greeted immediately, even though it’s a seat yourself place. Every staff member is friendly and pleasant, whether you’re seated in their section or not. There are games at each table, and railroad history and paraphernalia all over. They don’t have a book for a menu but there’s something for anyone (it IS a steak house, though) and there are several original ideas that the sound very tasty. My wife and I are meat and potatoes people, so we haven’t tried much of the variety, but our son has tried the ‘hot mess’ and the ‘Texas Two-Step’ wrap, and thinks they are both awesome. Their prime rib and rib-eye are divine and their baked potatos are perfect. While you’re eating, the staff is attentive, without being intrusive. They are easy-going people with good senses of humor, and fun on their minds. They care about your experience, and make you want to come back again.

Great food and a fun staff. I’ll definitely be coming here often. The prime rib was awesome and under priced (in my opinion). And you gotta try their Hair of the Ding Dang Dog Bloody Mary! Awesome!

This place is great! My folks had the Seafood fest, multi course, meal and they loved it! I had the Fettuccine Alfredo, cause I’m allergic to fish sadly. It was so creamy and rich and everything you want in an alfredo. The owners get their fish fresh, straight from the boat. And boy is the customer service great! Super friendly and fun, they make you feel welcome. I highly recommend to anyone in the area

From Leavenworth Washington and stopped in for dinner. So glad we did. Excellent service, amazing home cooked meals and the best clam chowder and fish and chips ever! We walked in as strangers and left feeling like family. A must try.

Amazing lunch with family. The owner was working as hard as any employee so happy to be there full of energy she made my day. Would go back again. Sooner the better.. Has the feel of home town pride. Owner also is a event photographer.

I debated whether to give 5 or 4 stars based on our (first) visit tonight. I opted for 4 (should actually have been 4.5) so there will be room for improvement next time.
The menu is somewhat limited BUT based on what I saw and had that is a good thing. To me I’d rather visit a place with a smaller menu that does everything very good rather than a place with a large menu where they do everything mediocre.
Both the wife and I had the Rib Eye Steak with baked potato and grilled green beans. We passed on desert but their list of deserts would certainly more than satisfy a person with a sweet tooth.
We started the meal with a salad. Contrary to a previous poster our salad was excellent, although a little small. However, it turned out I was very happy the salad was a little on the smaller side as the main course more than made up for it. The salad was also more than the usual lettuce on a plate; it had lots of goodies in it and was served in a bowl, another plus to me.
Then came the main course. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very good. Along with it were grilled green beans (I didn’t know they were included) and they were very good. Although I don’t often get baked potatoes I did tonight and to my surprise it was a true baked potato, not some block of microwaved vegetable matter – I hate microwave potatoes. I also got the potato “loaded” and they certainly covered the bases there as it was truly loaded. The meal was excellent.
One concern I had was the server. To me it’s not just about the food but also how I am treated as a customer. The server, I believe her name was “Princess” (that’s what it showed on the check), gave the impression at first she was just there to throw the food on the table. It turned out nothing could have been further than the truth because as the meal progressed she was very attentive to our every need. In fact as we talked to her during the meal she turned out to be worth the visit all by herself as she was a lot of fun to talk to and I really appreciated her. Oh, she was also the owner’s daughter so she gave us a little extra insight to their ideas of cooking, which is to cook “old school” and have things be fresh.
At the end of the day we are certain to drive back up from Eugene and have another meal there, hopefully with Princess as our server. Based on our visit tonight I would whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant.

Meat needs to be trimmed of excess fat, the bbq sauce was gelatin-like, more like gravy:/ The salad was not cool and crisp, it was more on the warm and wilted side. Our server was very sweet and kind, though.
