Burgers On Fleek – Ajax: The Ultimate Burger Experience in Ajax, ON
Reviews
Now to the food taste – The burger was good but not exceptional, fries were bland, onion rings were great. The pop vending machine gave out a very weird taste of sprite. Price – on the steeper side, $50 for 2 people.
So in all a mixed experience, may give it another try if i’m in the area.
This place has quickly become one of my new go-to spots in Ajax. Can’t wait to come back for another amazing meal!
You definitely get your money’s worth. One burger is more than enough and leaves you fully satisfied. A must-try for real burger lovers!
So as someone who specializes in crunchy bird sandwiches, I bought one called “The Original”. Do you see the size of this thing? Do you see how gargantuan the tenders are compared to the bun? My own photos DO NOT do its monumental size any justice. Go see it in person. And, surprisingly enough, it’s not even their largest one. I swear they experienced a McChicken and vowed to never let their customer have a chicken-less bite again because my goodness, the breaded bird never ended, from the first bite to the last.
But it’s not empty size either, because it’s one of if not the most savoury, the most juicy, and, crucially, most satisfying crunchy bird sandwiches I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. So much crunch that, even after an hour of wrangling this titan of a sandwich, it STILL had a little bit of texture left in the interior after all that juice. And whatever they use for seasoning is mind bogglingly good, and still leaves room for the chipotle sauce to just explode in my mouth. One thing to note was that this was actually two GIANT tenders instead of one patty, so sandwich integrity may be compromised, causing a few bites to have somewhat less meat than usual. But the sheer brilliance of the taste, (and admittedly, the mess), was well worth the trouble. And did I mention how enormous this thing was? Knowing I was headed here, I only had a single protein bar the day of, and left the place feeling twenty pounds fuller. And that’s not even including the fries.
I normally prefer thinner shoestring fries over chunkier steak fries as they’re easier to achieve a great level of seasoning and that perfect bite: a mild, satisfying crunch and a soft center. And while the majority of the steak fries I got were just that, there WERE a few that felt a little harder to chew through. Not stale and unseasoned, however, unlike Chuck’s Roadhouse’s fries. Perhaps that can’t be helped, and I’d love to know why some fries feel this way and others don’t, but it’s only a minor gripe to what is an already incredible meal.
The place itself was rather simple. It’s laid out like a fast food restaraunt where you seat yourself and you walk up to a cashier to order, but the cashier is also your waiter of sorts (or waitress, in our case). The interior was welcoming and unobtrusive, nothing really to write home about except for a wall of greenery beside the self-serve soda machine. I’m not sure if “hipster aesthetic” would be appropriate, as there wasn’t too much to note there, but it felt like the phrase could fit.
Our order was actually fairly quick this time. Around fifteen to twenty minutes for a group of three, though it wasn’t a busy day in the slightest. Even so, the fact that such quality food came through this quickly means they have their food prep and assembly down to an exact science. The woman who served us was incredibly friendly and also really funny.
This place opened close to the pandemic and has survived ever since. And it absolutely, 1000% deserves to. Do you see how long this review is? How passionate I am about this place and its food? Hell, this is how I find out reviews have a character limiSure, the chicken burger may not have been innovative or unique. But I don’t think there could be any more proof that they’ve worked tirelessly to perfect it as close as they possibly can. It’s traditional. It’s conventional. And yet it shines the brightest out of all. It’s the end of the chicken burger as I know it. There’s no more mountain left to scale. This is it.
It’s expensive though. $15 for the burger, $21 with fries. I dunno guys. It might be worth it. But I’ll go back to make sure.
9.8/10 food. The steak fries are brutally tough to get right 100% of the time, but that’s just what I think it takes to get a perfect 10 here.
10/10 fast, friendly, funny service.
9/10 value; it’s very expensive but just the $15 Original alone could fill you up.
