The burger was incredibly messy. Don’t get me wrong, it was flavorful and good, just messy.
Service was above average, which is hard to find these days, so that was nice.
The inside is pretty cool.

Went last night and I’m BLOWN AWAY. Food is incredible, price is solid, place looks great and the service is awesome.
Line was short and the cashier walked us through ordering. Two meals and a side of tenders came to about $30, and I was full before finishing my own. We sat down, some time later my name was called and they brought our food over to the table.
Staff busted booty, were friendly, and took opening day in stride.
Freaking brilliant to have the mini freezer of freezer pops.
Loved it and I’ll be back.
Not a perfect five star, but darn near close, for a few reasons:
Our sauce was forgotten and had to up to get it. They’d also ran out of ketchup in the bins and I had to ask for some.
The chairs look great, but are painful to sit in. Their back supports are curved to hold an average sized person but dig into the backside and hips of someone bigger.
There’s not a whole lot of space to wait for an order. When I needed a refill or grab sauce I had to keep asking people to move but there wasn’t always a place for them to move to.

We just moved back from Florida and were surprised to see that Lefty’s has been replaced by the Burger Yard. We decided to give it a try and thought the food was decent. The menu is not large and their selection of fountain drinks, which are Pepsi products, is also small. We ordered the two simplest items on the menu the Original Yard Burger and Classic Yard Burger. I was expecting a different price for a meal but the price is for a meal. The burger appeared to be on the small side but it was sufficient for the meal. There was a very large portion of fries. The fries were crispy and cooked very well but they needed to be salted. The fries are narrow compared to a regular fry but not as small as a match stick fry. In addition to fountain drinks, they had regular lemonade, which was better than a fountain drink lemonade, and a blackberry hibiscus lemonade that was very good. I later found they have a small refrigerator with cans of Pepsi drinks that are available to take instead of the fountain drinks. I do not know if you can receive a cup for fountain drink refills if you take a can and I might explore that next time. The hamburgers were well cooked and had good flavor. The only complaint I might have, which would make this review 4.5 if it was available, was that the burgers had too much sauce on them and both mine and my wife’s were messy by the time we got to the end of them. The staff were young ladies and seemed very pleasant. We will be back and I would recommend it to others.

The food is unsatisfactory. I ordered the “Bird in the Yard” combo, which the menu description says it contains “fried chicken patty”. In reality, it came with two chicken tenders, a piece of cheese, and some shredded lettuce (see pic). The chicken tender is rubbery and this sandwich is the same exact thing as the dollar menu chicken tender sandwich from sonic.. although it tastes better at sonic and significantly less expensive.
The “Yard Burger” is overcooked and charred it’s so burned, tastes horrible. Really nothing special about their brand named burger at all. I rate it a 1/10.
The fries are completely soggy, soft and skimpy portions.
Lastly, they were out of ice so we had warm soda and they still charged us for it.

Decided to stop in and try out this new place (to us) we love to support our local small businesses.. however we get in and the establishment is freezing (on the inside), get greeted by a young woman in a Snuggie and our order was taken. Place seemed to be busy, people were coming and going, and couple pick up orders as well. While waiting for my oder, another customer had advised me the heat had been out for going on a month, and that he wouldn’t be back! He also told the young woman to tell the owner. My hands and feet were freezing just waiting for our order, can you imagine the employees? This would explain the Snuggie being worn over a work uniform. Fix the heat, or get the vents cleaned might help. We waited over 30 minutes for our to go order, the the man who ordered after me.. actually received his order first. So I waited until the young woman brought me my order, I asked why he would’ve received his order first? You know first in, first out. But her explanation was I don’t know I was told to package the other individual order first. Only to get home to receive an average burger with four tiny pickles and very little lettuce.. for as much as we were charged for both burgers ($29 not including a tip and what did I tip for?)
I would expect some more fries, at least decent amount. This experience was disappointing we will not be returning and spreading the word NOT to waste your time!

Perfectly packaged to go. Burgers were best in South Lyon (better than Culver’s). I thought the fries were awesome. Not crispy (maybe because it was as to go) but I more of a squishy fry guy. Perfectly seasoned and fresh tasting. Lemonade was great. You can definitely skip the chicken though. Tenders and sandwich seem like cheap frozen chicken you buy in bulk at the grocery store. This will be my new burger and fries spot in town though! Burgers have that good thousand island type sauce too.

I wanted to change my review! If I could rate this place a 20 out of ten I would! I have ordered several times and every time it’s amazing!! Meat taste like you grilled them in your backyard. Flavors are indescribable! Get the Yard Burger and you won’t regret it.

Giving this one star because I couldn’t give zero. Arrived at 2pm on a Sunday. It was not busy, we were the only customers. First impressions were that it was dirty. Tables needed to be wiped down and floors needed to be swept. Menu was small so we were hoping that they keep it simple so they can provide a great product. That was not the case. Burger was not cooked well enough, and the fries were soggy and still a little cold. Speaking of cold, the place seemed to have no heat. I was freezing and we left our coats on while we ate. If they can’t keep the heat in working order, it makes you wonder what others corners they are cutting.

I have eaten at burger yard three times now. The food is really good. Love the smash burgers. Three different girls have waited on me and all three girls have leaned against the counter, not looked up, didn’t say anything to me when I walked in the door. The place was a mess all three times, food on the tables, dirty floors etc. This place really needs a supervisor/manager to keep these kids moving and working, and teach them customer service. I was going to go back for a fourth time today but it’s closed. There are no signs in the window and the doors are locked. Not a good sign.
