Originally from New Liskeard, Ontario, our parents and original Burger World founders, Remi & Marie Jeanne Rivet, took a chance and moved their young family south to open a restaurant. Twelve years later in 1993, Burger World on Algonquin Avenue was born. Originally slated for burgers, fresh cut fries, breakfast and a few dinner items, Burger World has blossomed into a full service restaurant with over 120 different items to choose from. In 2000 we opened an additional location at Fisher Street and Highway 11. In 2004, after 40 years of working in a restaurant our parents decide to step aside and enjoy retirement living in the sunny south.
Modest outpost for classic comfort foods from breakfast to steak to pie plus beer, liqueurs & wine.

This place is a must try if you’re in North Bay! The staff are like a well-oiled machine, super fast and friendly! The atmosphere is great, the staff do a little WOOOO !!, once in a while, they seem like they have fun! The food is really amazing! LOTS of homemade wholesome items to choose from. Great portions and prices. The pickerel is my go to , done to perfection. My husband says the clubhouse was perfect and best he’s had yet anywhere. Can’t say enough good about the place.

Good gluten free pancakes. Not too many gluten free options for breakfast. Diner vibes. Server was knowledgeable, asked if it is was a celiac allergy. Service was quick and friendly but they did forget to give us the coffee that came with our meal and the requested hot sauce.

Staff were very friendly, helpful, kind and great listeners. The team atmosphere seemed fluid and strong willed from what I observed.
The time to wait was minimal and was interesting to see how the cooks were in their prime working as a team.
Pricing is fantastic! We got a good amount of food and was not expecting how friendly it was to get the final bill. Their specials are eye catching and makes me want to drive there for dinner living in Barrie.
A go to place whether you are a local or are driving through North Bay. Highly recommend stopping by!

The first time we went it was around brunch, really packed but we got a table quick. Second time it was much less busy and for a early supper
Both times quality of service and food was on point
They have a gluten free bun option for burgers which is one of the best buns I’ve had, Normally I find the gluten free options are much smaller then the regular but this place seems to have it as the same size as a regular bun and it’s not as dry as others. They do their onions rings nice as well, crispy on the outside with a soft onion inside.
The kitchen follows instructions well when I asked my fries to be well done – not over cooked but a crunchy golden on the outside with a soft on the inside. What I appreciated most is the fries are cut and done fresh at location not frozen and mass produced.
They do have dessert (We didn’t get a chance to try as we were too full from out meals) from the information I got the pies come from a bakery couple hours south – something we look forward to trying next time.
It’s a great place to go for a meal with a friend, family weekend meal or a on the go bite.

I am from out of town but visit this location whenever I am in the area. Unfortunately, my last 2 visits have been quite lackluster. On the first visit I was left with extreme indigestion and nausea and wasn’t sure why as I have eaten here numerous times. On my most recent visit I ordered a veggie wrap but wanted to sub the salad for fries at which point the waitress indicated the fries were cooked in beef tallow (which explained my previous visit and the servers lack of mentioning this) so I stuck with the salad. The wrap was soggy, 1 note and almost bland (I make a better wrap). The salad had huge middle chunks of uncut, brown lettuce. The server didn’t return until we had almost finished our meal otherwise I would have sent the entire order back. The waitress didn’t even say Hi when she first arrived to the table. She just wanted to take our order and seemed annoyed. Extremely disappointing as bw used to be my favourite go to spot. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere on my next visit to town
*Update to owners response* You’re splitting hairs over vegan/veggie wrap. It’s all vegetables. It is quite insulting to insinuate I was not at your location just because there wasn’t a wrap sold the day of the review. Lastly, I do not work there. How am I to know what is in the fryers. Definitely will not be back.

Burger World? Yes please, this is the place where you can get a nice, warm, and juicy burger made to order. Friendly staff member always with a smile ready to serve you, the customers here are also very warm and feels more like a huge family around. Fast service and plenty of parking space near the restaurant.

We have gone to both restaurants for 14 years, food and service was excellent during those years, then yesterday night, my husband tried to treat the family to supper at the Hammond street location, I had ordered a cheeseburger and poutine, when the waitress asked “Is everything okay?”, my poutine was served chilled and not hot, so I told her that they seemed like unthawed fries, she then said “What do you want me to do about it?”, obviously I asked for them to be reheated, but she seemed to hold on to the word ‘frozen’, and debated the non-usage of frozen fries, I just wanted a hot poutine, and because of the debate, the manager was called out, and furthered the debate instead of trying to solve the problem, I told the waitress to just take the poutine back and that I didn’t want it anymore, I told her I will never come back again which I won’t. I’m also apart of a few different clubs, and they will hear about this incident, this just isn’t the same burger world from all those years ago, not the same atmosphere.
