I pull up to order, there is no sign on the screen or speaker that mentions any issues and the lane is fully open, no cones or anything blocking it.
After going back and forth confirming that I have a code and repeating it several times slowly, the employee mentions the speaker is broken and that’s why he can’t understand me. The code he entered didn’t ring up for the correct food items. He didn’t have any options of how to fix it. So I said okay, i’ll start over with a new code… they said okay. I go to generate a new code but now it won’t let me and I tell the employee that. At this point a car pulls up to the other lane which is working fine i guess. So he says okay, well I can’t understand you so I’m going to take the other person’s order and then come back.
I decide I’ll pull around, go inside, and try to fix the issue with ordering the correct food and trying to fix the points. There was a short exchange about the points inside but also a lack of interest in taking just my regular order without the points.. so I left.
The daytime staff, specifically the younger gentleman that usually works the window is competent, friendly, professional, and efficient. This nightime staff interaction made me want to stick a fork in an electrical outlet.
If the speaker doesn’t work, close the lane.
If there’s a problem with communication, have the customer pull up to the window or ask them to use the other lane.
If you know the points aren’t going to work for 24 hours after canceling the order give the customer any other options.
