I placed an online order for pick-up at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was busy, so we patiently waited. However, customers who ordered 10 min after we arrived were receiving food, and our food, drink cups, etc, were nowhere to be seen…so we asked about our order. We were told they were “bagging it now”. I observed the manager placing sandwiches in a bag which had been in the warmer window since we arrived, 16 min prior. I requested that we be provided with fresh food, and he continued to bag, another employee asked what drinks we wanted, and both completely ignored my request. Telling me, if you want a refund, complain on the app.
Another manager approached and asked what the issue was. I told her that I recognized the restaurant was overwhelmed, and I simply requested fresh food. The man bagging my food began to speak over me, and I told him, “I am talking”…at which point he stormed out of the building.
The second manager told me if I am gong to do that to him, I need to leave. I renewed my request for food, and she began to prepare it, but also asked why I placed a mobile order if I knew they were this busy…mame, I was miles down the road when I placed that order.
I stepped back and began to wait, when another customer said he understood my frustration, and I explained that the food had all been in the warming window since I got there…
At that point the female manager told me “if you are going to discuss your experience with other customers, I will stop making your food and you can leave”.
I understand long wait times, places get busy, staff get overwhelmed…but neither are excuses for stale food and terrible service from management.
